The decor at Clontarf Castle was exceptional. Our room was spacious and bright and cheery. Bedding was beautifully comfortable. The staff were all cheerful, welcoming and very accommodating. Access to the City by bus was convenient, just a short walk to the bus stop and frequent service. The front desk ordered us a taxi pick up for the airport with no problem at all ... quick and efficient The staff on duty when we left gave us a small box of chocolates for our journey ... a nice touch!
The only thing which let down our room was mold at the base of the shower cubicle. A personal dislike is buffet food, Breakfast was offered buffet style. We were offered a menu on our first morning but not on our second. Although full Irish breakfast was offered buffet style, we ordered from the menu. Fresh cooked is far more appealing - hot and fresh - than buffet food which is very difficult to keep hot ... Our second day's breakfast, we were not offered the menu from which to order. We went with the buffet but scrambled eggs were not very nice ... cold and the texture was not nice. I mentioned my dislike of buffet style to the maitre d/host on our first morning and he agreed it is difficult to keep food hot in the buffet.

What a beautiful historic property. A real treat coming from Canada where there is nothing like this around. Such a grand entrance. Being able to wander around the inside of the property to explore was a real treat.
The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. For the price you pay you expect spotless. The seal in the shower for example needs to be replaced.
With the Canadian dollar/euro exchange rate it is expensive but a real nice short stay.

I liked the castle architecture with modern convenience. Location, quiet area.
Our room was not cleaned tge entire time we were there, the first day we over slept, but the next two days it wasn't cleaned.

Amazing castle. Beautifully decorated. Spacious. Very friendly staff.
The heat was so high, we often left public spaces like the restaurant/bar/breakfast because it was unbearable. We did mention it several times to staff but it remained too hot.

Everything!! Great value, room was beautiful, staff was very friendly, buffet breakfast was delicious.
Nothing. It was a minor challenge to find the car park entrance as I'm not familiar with the neighborhood.

It was an incredibly unique experience. The facility itself, coupled with the amenities inside the hotel, are very scenic, historic, and memorable.
You cannot walk to many of Dublin’s prominent sights and attractions

Safe location
Broke my new hairdryer , nobody explained how to turn the electricity on with the card took a shower in the dark. Asked for a free breakfast due to these inconveniences and the Indian receptionist said No she was training a lovely young girl to make the same mistake. She should not be training people if she cant see the customer fairly satisfied wont stay there again.

Poor
The castle is very old, historical, and cool.
The front desk did not respond to my calls throughout the day which made coordination for leaving very difficult. They also did not respond to emails from me. This caused me all kinds of logistical problems. They also made an error in the amount they refunded for incidental holdings, keeping more then they were supposed to
