the fact that the Knights Bar was shut both nights was extremely disappointing,
as the other bar was very busy and noisy and not very comfortable

The staff were lovely
The room was nothing like the picture - for nearly €400 it was cramped (and that's being nice). It felt like somewhere they'd put Harry Potter

What a beautiful historic property. A real treat coming from Canada where there is nothing like this around. Such a grand entrance. Being able to wander around the inside of the property to explore was a real treat.
The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. For the price you pay you expect spotless. The seal in the shower for example needs to be replaced.
With the Canadian dollar/euro exchange rate it is expensive but a real nice short stay.
