Amazing place to stay. Wished we had more time to stay a few more day. Staff was always smiling and making sure we had all we needed.

It was close to our friends.
We booked Clontarf Castle as my husband was from Clontarf before we moved to Australia. I wanted him to experience the castle after all the years of drinking etc there but we had never stayed. But were both very disappointed. The rooms were small if we had our two suitcases with us no room to open them. The breakfast was very expensive for what we got. No butter or milk on the table for four people we had to ask for more each morning along with other guess. No toasting bread when I went up and had to ask for it. No Irish brown bread. Hot food dishes with two types of food in each and only a desert spoon to take out. Scrambled eggs looked like they were there as long as the hotel is open

The atmosphere...it was so beautiful and the staff was so accommodating and welcoming. It felt so warm and comfortable a home away from home.
We loved our time there and would highly recommend!
P.S. the housekeepers were so sweet and adorable! :)
We didn't dislike anything! We loved it there!

The hotel is clean, comfortable and the staff is great!
It would be nice if there was a take away coffee/tea station near lobby. We wanted to only get coffee before we headed out for the day prior to check in and we had to wait for a table in the restaurant and it felt odd to just ask for coffee when we sat down. The room where you have breakfast is tight because the furniture, specifically the chairs are very large. Trying to move around the room was a little bit of a challenge.

EVERYTHING! It is absolutely breathtaking! Everything and everyone working there is absolutely TOP NOTCH!! Stayed here 10 years ago and if I ever come back I will definitely stay here again!
I wish they had a spa or offered massages but there are plenty of places around that off that!

Poor
The hotel really does look like a castle from the outside, quite imposing at first glance. The staff are very attentive and polite. The food in the Knights Bar was good, the breakfast was a little above average. There are plenty of parking lots availabe right in front of the hotel.
The hotel seems to be getting on in years. It is extremely dusty in many places. Inside the hotel, the castle feeling is quickly put into perspective. The rooms have probably not been renovated for a long time and are average at best. The price-performance ratio is not right.

Loved the medieval decor, the history of the Castle and the quiet. Staff were very friendly and professional .
Food was very good in the bar and the room service was great, breakfast arrived hot.
The bed was so comfortable, and the room was huge, we were upgraded to a suite at no extra charge as we eloped, and it made our time there so special. Little touches added to the room (wine and chocolates on arrival) were a lovely touch and a card of congratulations.
There was also a nespresso machine in the room, so bring your pods from home!

The staff and environment were exceptional! We couldn't be happier with the accommodations. Marilena Stefan was especially wonderful and helpful. Her friendly jovial persona made our experience the best possible. Will reccomend this place to everyone.

Stunning setting and decor. Very good food for dinner and breakfast. Very quiet, plenty of places to sit and relax. Free parking. Rooms are really beautiful.
Would love a pool!
Some difficulty in follow through for lost property, but hoping to get that sorted.
