This elegant Georgian hotel in Dublin city center is just 2 minutes' walk from O' Connell Street and very close to Temple Bar, it offers rooms with private bathrooms, a restaurant/bar with evening entertainment, and free Wi-Fi. The recently renovated Castle Hotel is steeped in sophisticated Georgian style, featuring original, sweeping staircases, crystal chandeliers, antique mirrors and marble fireplaces. The Old Music Shop restaurant is located in a Georgian Room overlooking Findlater's 19th-century Gothic Revival Church. It offers an all-day menu of pizza, pasta, salads and gourmet sandwiches. A pre-theater and evening menu is also available. The hotel has its own secure private car park. The Aircoach Dublin Airport Bus stops just 3 minute's walk away. Fair
Loved the old style of the property & the idea of a boutique hotel over a corporate. Large clean rooms & comfortable bed . Quiet location .
Found staff very unwelcoming especially in the seated breakfast restaurant .Minimal interaction from staff , made to feel we were in way of clearing up . Very unfriendly reception staff ,keys handed over with no word or smile . Lack of facilities in the room . No fridge or safe . No hanging facility for towels in the bathroom . Shower needed updating.Doors on shower did not close fully & soaked the floor .Small shower space& oddly angled shower head !Plenty of space in bathroom for updating . Family members were in hotel close by & paid less for much more !

Pleasant
The history was the most interesting part. Enjoyed the live music at night.
Rooms were just a room with beds in them. No character. Rooms were miserably hot and the fan provided was inadequate. Understanding there was a heat wave, should have had some accommodations available Additionally, when we arrived on Saturday night we were told the parking was full and to just park on the street. They failed to mention that come 7am Monday morning if you didn’t pay for parking on the app, they would put a boot on your car. Being unfamiliar with the rules in Dublin, we were not happy to find a boot when we were in a hurry to leave in addition to the 125 EUR fine. Interestingly the staff seemed to have a lot of experience with helping guests to deal with it. It would have been nice to have someone tell us about this when we checked in.

Location. Included breakfast choices.
Outside noise all hours of day and night. We backed up to an alley/car park, so maybe not representative.

Very Poor
Front desk were lovely and accommodating.
Old, tired hotel. Tiny rooms. It was like a maze getting to the room. Take a lift to 3rd floor to then go down to 4th floor and back up again. Something like that! Was wondering how we would get out of there in case of a fire. Noisy. Room was stifling hot. Checked in and immediately checked out and booked into another hotel. Not eligible for any refund. Staff attempted to accommodate by offering a small apt in some back alley with a large amount of stairs leading up to apt. We're in our 70's. Time we refrained from looking for quaintness and focus on comfort.

Exceptional
Very welcoming and close to things we wanted to see but not in the middle of the noisy Temple Bar area
We were there on the warmest day in two years and it was a little hot but there was a good fan in our room

Good
I thought the property was unique and furnished beautifully.
The property doesn’t have air conditioning and the heat was terrible during our stay. Our room faced the road and the street noise was very loud, so it did not allow to leave windows open during the night to let in the breeze and cool the room.

Disappointing
It was totally disappointing. I asked for a quite room, because I was going to stay after 9 hours flight. They gave me 4 sqf room with facing loading area. Very noisy. I asked for switching, this time room was hot and no AC!. Can't open the window, i guess for safety purposes. I slept like 4 am because of humid, this time housekeeper knocked the door 3 times for cleaning until 12.00 check out time. I asked for extra hour to sleep, thay did not let it. Wifi was disaster in the new room. No kettle, no water, no hot water, nothing! Its service was like a hostel

Wonderful
Loved the old look. With so many modern hotels around it was nice to find one that made you feel you went back in time. Great location. Quiet and comfortable.
The staff in the restaurant were not very kind. The staff in the front were fine.
