Location and staff
The bedroom window although double glazed was poorly fitted and let noise into the room all night. The bathroom plumbing was poor

The location across the street from The Gate Theatre is a huge advantage and should be a selling/advantage of your hotel. I loved the simplicity of the hotel - entering and exiting the property, getting to my room, simple uncomplicated check in and check out, the quiet ambience in spite of being at the side of a busy street. It is refreshing to have a simple uncomplicated stay in a city center hotel without all the bells and whistles of modern hotels that add nothing to the overall stay of the guest. I also liked the preservation of the older aspects of this hotel.

The room was amazing! We had booked a quad room but it was double booked so we ended up getting two double rooms (which was better for us). We used to stay in Cassidy's years ago for matches but wow, it's had a fabulous makeover. And the location is PERFECT. Right in the city - 15min walk to Temple Bar, 10 min walk to Croke Park. You couldn't get better.
The restaurant. We had an absolutely awful experience which is why I deducted 2 points. The girl that took our order looked like she was absolutely miserable. We had to ask twice for water and our wine came out warm. Then we were left waiting 45min for our food - we ended up having to ask for it. When it eventually came out, starters and mains came out together. The chips were all cold and had to be sent back, my partners order was still forgotten about and when it came out it was lukewarm. The reason we were given for the delay was that it was very busy but there were only a few tables and there was plenty of staff on. I would recommend you dine somewhere else but definitely stay in the hotel.

i paid extra for a deluxe room which was generally clean enough but we were both a bit disappointed that the room was a lot smaller than expected. car park had free ev charging which, whilst a plus, if i had known about would have saved me a 20 mile detour on the way there. staff were pleasant enough and bar was open until around 2:00 am which was good as all the other pubs closed at 11:30, thought this a bit early for Dublin though.
as previously mentioned for a deluxe room it was quite small and we didn't find the bed super comfy. the coffee machine water tank hadn't been cleaned properly and so we didn't have any coffee at all during our stay, my wife loves her coffee so this was a negative as it put her off even trying to clean it herself. the bedside radio / phone charger didn't work but we had our own charger. my other half was hungry when we arrived and so we went into the restaurant, I didn't want anything but I got a tiramisu just to have something in front of me whilst my wife had fish and chips, which she liked. she had a bacardi and I had a pint of beer, which I needed when I went to pay, it came to a few pence short of 60 euros. not particularly blaming Cassidys though as Dublin prices are nothing short of extortionate. one other thing was that when I went down to put cases into my car at 11:55am on the day of our departure my room key card was disabled when I returned a couple of minutes after 12 noon, checkout time, luckily my wife was still in the room and I was able get back in, seems 12 noon checkout meant exactly that. As an airbus pilot I have stayed in hotels everywhere and never experienced a keycard deactivating exactly at checkout time. I'm only writing this as I was prompted by booking.com and I don't want it taken as a negative review, merely an account of how we honestly experienced our stay.

We were looking forward to our stay in Dublin, but from check-in I could tell this was not the hotel for our family of 4. First there was no one to help us unload our bags and when I asked for help, was met with annoyance. The family rooms were an incredibly far distance from the front desk and when I called to ask for ice for a prescription to keep cold as there were no fridges, I was met with "you can come get it". Easier said than done when I have to bring 2 little kids with me. I will not be staying here again. Those are just a few examples.

I liked the location I thought it was too expensive at £298 without breakfast it was a last minute booking then took £7 extra for paying euro made a mistake when booking and give my visa card instead of my credit card. Then money take out of my account a day early .
