When we booked and stayed they should have an option to book a single or double bed option separately, they didnt, you could pick if you upgraded your room, we didnt have a choice and we got 2 singles although we wanted a double. There was no hot water at night or in the morning, there was no room service and they say on website that food is available up to 11.30pm, its not available to that time, when we asked it was only until 9pm :-( very disappointed. We were at a show and thought we could have something in restaurant when we returned - instead we had to order pizza and sneak it in as there are signs everywhere saying no other food is permitted in hotel - even though they cant provide it? Not very professional for a 4 star hotel! Parking was available with a small car park at front if you could get a space as its shared with the apartments there as well. We would probably look elsewhere next time :-(

Disappointing
The breakfast was plentiful and varied.
The first night the TV was on standby and the TV screen was really brightside we couldn't sleep. As the phone wasn't in plain sight, my sister went down to reception at gone 12 to explain, and she was told someone would come up. The guy did arrive, and after looking at the TV said he needed to look at something on the landing but didn't return so after an hour she went down again to be told the guy was on another job. It took a couple of days to get the TV working properly and not keep us awake. We had other issues during the week. Our room for 3 and we were being left only enough towels for 2. I think every hotel I've ever stayed at has had a book on the table giving details of broadband password, facility details, and times, but there was nothing here. This proved embarrassing when we used the spa facilities. We were also surprised to find out the history of the hotel in respect of the shooting during a boxing match. As 3 ladies it did make us really concerned about the location but luckily we'd hired a car.

Room was very comfortable, with tea and coffee available. I requested fresh milk which i collected at reception. It's very easy to walk to catch the local bus service into the town centre, but you need to pay the exact monies for the bus trips so get some euros coins as the hotel never had any chance. . Also a wee convenience shop at the bottom of the road.
nothing to report

Enjoyed the leisure centre nice and clean, good facilities. Hotel had a great breakfast.
Our bed was extremely uncomfortable with broken springs sticking out of the mattress, made for a very bad night's sleep. Left the hotel exhausted with a sore back and ribs. Our shower gel and soap in our room was also empty

Staff weren’t nice, had to find our own cutlery after being served food with no fork or knife. Had to go to bar to get a drink with the food. Very poor service. Bar staff were nice. On checkout wasn’t even asked how the stay was. Curtains were flying in the wind when we walked into room. Thought window was open. It was not.

The Bonnington is in a great location. The room was very comfortable and the swimming pool was lovely and warm. We got a room on the ground floor, near reception which was fantastic as I have mobility issues.
