There was little help from staff around securing a taxi for a concert. On the phone beforehand the staff member said she couldn’t pre-book a taxi and then she was able to, she wasn’t clear. When we got there the staff member said it was booked but didn’t seem overly confident. The room was small and very old fashioned and the food at breakfast was average.

The building is beautiful, with a historic feel that blends old and new in a really pleasant atmosphere. The garden and property are lovely — perfect for photos and a relaxing cultural trip.
That said, the rooms feel old. The TV is small, the furniture and bathroom are dated, and they could really use some renovation. Parking is paid and quite tight, which might be a problem for larger vehicles. Also, the hotel requires a security deposit — if you pay in cash, make sure to allow about 20 minutes at checkout to get it back.

The bed was comfortable, and the onsite car parking were good.
When we checked in, the toilet had recently been used and there was defecation still present in the toilet bowl. The room was extremely hot at night and there was no way to turn down the heating. And then this morning, we were awoken to a fire alarm blaring overhead. Furthermore, the shower/bath drain didn't work and kept flooding/not draining. For instance, a shower would have the bath half filled and it would stay filled, slowly draining, and then when another guest wanted to use the shower, it was still shin deep. The room housed 3 people, yet there were only two chairs, mugs, and glasses. There was no fridge despite the cupboard having a space dedicated to a mini fridge.

The hotel was first class staff where so welcoming and friendly rooms were of high standard we ahd 2 rooms booked (for 8 people the younger group were for a concert) The only smallest problem I found was the TV in room didn't work but that was all Dinner & breakfast was amazing
