Location was perfect as we were taking part in the HYROX event at the RDS which is literally next door.
A massive issue for us was the traffic in the surrounding area. It took us an hour to get to the hotel from Dublin airport but it’s only a 15km journey.
We had a nightmare trying to get back to the airport on the Friday afternoon. Every road from the hotel to cross the river was completely gridlocked. We ended up jumping out of our Uber and walking across the river then spent 40mins trying to find another taxi on the other side. Thankfully we made it to the airport in time, just.
Not the hotels fault obviously but something to be very aware of as we know people who missed flights as a result of this.
One other minor gripe is that umbrellas were on a hire basis which I felt was a bit stingy. Given it was pouring with rain the entire time we were there a system for giving out umbrellas free would be a very nice touch.

Exceptional
The room was spacious. The shower was terrific. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was very helpful and kind. I will always stay here in the future. Being so close to the DART (literally 2 min walk) was invaluable. I didn't use a cab the entire time.
The one issue I had was ordering a taxi for the airport. I put an order in the night before at the desk and in the morning I waited and the cab wasn't there. I would suggest not using an app in the future when a guest makes an early appointment and deal directly with a cab company or car service. I actually ended up missing my flight. It wasn't the end of the world (I was just flying to the UK) but it was a stressful morning.

Unfortunately our plane was delayed along with 12,000 other people at the airport in Dublin . Thank goodness for the Clayton hotel , we were so lucky to have gotten a room here . The hotel is absolutely beautiful, the staff is so incredibly friendly and understanding (they even assisted in a medical issue a friend of mine was experiencing that required urgent professional attention) . The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was amazing and a huge variety of. Thank you so much for our stay !
Nothing … perfect !

The location is great. The pubs in the area have really good food, ambiance and service quality, I.e. Searson’s and The Bridge. It is easy to take the train to central Dublin
It was all good.

Wonderful
Beautiful property, friendly staff and clean accommodations. The food at their restaurant was delicious. Great overall experience.
The plumbing was a bit finicky. Be prepared to do the Hokey Pokey in the shower because the water goes from freezing to scalding in a matter of seconds. The sink was slow to drain. The parking garage is an adventure to navigate for people that aren’t used to driving in tight spaces.

Wonderful
Like the repurposed use of the property. Old but updated. Kind staff.
No refrigerator in room. Had to take insulin medication to bar for refrigeration.
No top sheet. Bed covers too heavy. Needed a lighter cover.
