Fair
There are thick duvets on the beds which aren't suitable in summer. (We stayed in August).
The gardener started with a leaf lower outside my window at 8am. Not conducive to a lie in!!!

Disappointing
Staff were polite, beds were very comfy, spacious bathroom, easy to use shower.
Safety included like bathmat for shower and towel for floor - message to remind us to do so, which was appreciated.
No slippers, dressing gown, shower cap, earbuds - certainly something I'd expect given the cost per night.
Sugar took forever to come up, as well as small sachets of milk. No hotel bar, limited menu, poor selection of TV channels.

Poor
Good location and the bar staff were friendly and accomodating.
I was questioned every single morning by the staff in the restaurant when coming down for breakfast. Despite the fact that I had paid for breakfast when booking and confirmed with reception. I had to explain this every single morning to the same restaurant staff. We repeatedly had to follow up about requesting toilet paper for our rooms and one staff member refused to clean the toilet. There was no aircondionting in the rooms. I had paid for parking for our entire trip but had issues with leaving the car park with the validated ticket every time. When checking out I was accused by a staff member at reception of not paying. After getting the manager involved and confirming it was an error on the hotels part she did not apologise. I was then given another faulty parking ticket when trying to leave the hotel after checking out. I will never be back to this hotel and I will no longer be recommending it to my clients through the travel agency I work for.

Poor
The location.
Don’t be fooled by the photos, this property is beautiful on the outside anything but on the inside. It’s tired run down and average. The rooms were small there was no aircon, mould on the bathroom walls, over priced so expensive for the product. The gym is a cupboard locked away downstairs that smells and has no natural daylight. I would not and could not recommend this hotel it’s completely over priced for the product you receive

Location is excellent for transport links either for the Dart or bus into Dubin. Lovely selection of coffee shops for breakfast or lunch and some good local pubs too.
Lovely hotel.

Pleasant
We've stayed in Clayton several times and love the location, as well as the hotel and range of amenities and gardens. The breakfast is very good and extensive , including it's gluten free options, and we like the bar as well as the basic fitness suite.
The lack of air conditioning in the rooms (except 6th floor) was a bit of a struggle in the heat. Also there wasn't enough shelving in the room to put enough clothes for more than one night. I also ordered gluten free porridge on one of the days and it took over 30 minutes to arrive.

We went as a family of 7, it was perfect, the staff were very friendly, and we're very kind to our children, they laughed and joked with us at dinner. And had crayons and colouring pages for the children to use, it was very family friendly, I will definitely stay again.
