The hotel is easy to access and great parking, the reception and bar areas are very nice and pleasant and look up to the standard you would expect for a 4 star hotel. The staff are very friendly and efficient. I stayed here 15 years ago it is still a welcoming place.
The Room was tired, in dire need of refurbishment. Certainly no longer 4-star. The room was cold when we entered. As a vent in the bathroom window was open, closing this helped, but the wind still came in because the window itself didn't close properly.
The furniture in the room is all past its best, with scratches, chips, and general heavy wear and tear. The walls and ceilings had numerous marks from previous occupants. The feature photo was held to the wall with a cheap galvanised bracket clearly visible outside the frame.
The air conditioning is effective but very loud, and luckily it was mild outside, I would hate to try and sleep with it on in winter or summer
The bathroom had no towel rail and only a single hook. Making the drying of towels difficult. There was a broken wall tile and old plug holes, maybe there was one before.The press button toilet flush built into the wall, was not working properly and is half broken. see pictures
The bed was okay, again probably old and past its best; my wife found it uncomfortable. There was only one bedside lamp, so as I like to read, I had to move it around to my side. There was a selection of fake light switches by the bed to control the room's lighting. The room contains about a dozen downlights that were trendy 20-30 years ago. There is only one working switch for them, either all on or all off. Again, for longer-term stays, this would be pretty unpleasant.
The room we were in was keeping its best surprise for 6:15 am, when I was woken by what I thought was someone in the room, but it turned out to be the floor above. It appears that there is a timber construction between the floors. I could hear every creak and stomp of the guest upstairs, including the doors closing, and even the toilet flush—certainly not a 4-star room to room insulation.
Then there is legacy mould and/or staining at joints between surfaces, such as mirrors and ceilings, that are difficult to clean. See pictures.

Reception staff were welcoming and very professional. Hotel was convenient and comfortable overall. Bed was comfortable and clean. Room was quiet overnight although next door’s conversation was audible on the morning of check out.
Room fittings and furnishings are starting to look a bit tired / old / weathered in places eg, prominent carpet stain, an electrical socket coming loose from wall, older bathroom fit out, shower head not flexible. While the standard of cleanliness was high overall, there was one exception - two stray hairs in the sink on arrival (which is never reassuring)

Beds were comfy and kiss loved the pool
Would have liked a few basics in the bathroom ie shampoo and conditioner, shower gel or s not ideal for washing hair, we did not bring sinew as we assumed it would be there.

Room is great which so much space and very clean. Parking space is also good with lots of slots to choose from.
Booked online for 155 but ended paying 175.75 during checkout. I was in a hurry for an appointment and would have disputed the amount but paid the amount instead.

Air con was on full blast in lobby - too draughty
No soap/shampoo in showers in leisure centre - would be good to get a small sachet of shampoo and conditioner with the towels

Your staff are extremely nice. I was given an upgrade and breakfast was included which was a very nice surprise. I felt very grateful. The rooms are big and very comfy. The only thing is that the walls are paper thin - you can hear everything next door.
You don't have a vegan breakfast. Most hotels do, even if they don't show it. Your staff don't know whether they have vegan margarine or not though in fairness they did check and you did. Options very limited. You don't even have a vegetarian breakfast on the menu which tbh is very out of date. I did ask and was told there really was nothing so I just had beans and toast.
