Beautiful hotel with clearly a lot of history and amazing foyer complete with chandelier. Our room was spacious and very clean with a lovely cosy bed. The Piano Bar was also pretty amazing and had a real sense of grandeur and occasion.
The property was also very central and easy to get to the airport from the nearby bus stop. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. Overall it was a fab place to stay as we haven’t been to Cork before and clearly a Cork institution.
Disappointing that we had to pay to use the sauna and spa facilities - this wasn’t made clear on the website. It also closed very early (5pm). The bathroom was also a little dated and it would have been helpful to have a hairdryer in the room. For a 4 star hotel, I was surprised that such a basic amenity was missing. There was also no mini bar in the room.

It’s beautiful and historic. Very comfortable. The staff was so considerate.
The street entrance seems a little run down, especially compared to the beautiful space inside.

Ideal central location. Very clean and spacious rooms. Awesome staff. Tasty pints. Plus ye showed the munster rugby match in the bar which I was delighted with but not so much the result of the match. Was on a second date with a girl, treating her to a night our in our real capital and really wanted to watch the match and much to my delight, as I gazed into her eyes could see the tv in the mirror on the column beside me
We arrived at 7pm . Checked in and were hungry..went to see what light food was available but no snackish food was available like simple toasties, burger n chips etc. Simple, ordinary folk us up from the country
