This hotel shouldn’t be given any rating. It’s unbelievably bad and expensive. €660 for 2 nights stay with no breakfast. We left at 10:15am after ONE night. An alternative room was offered but we declined. No air conditioning no lifts - old cigarette box with cigarettes under one of the beds - 3 single beds which were very close together. Gammy window.

Cosy atmosphere and friendly helpful staff.
Wish they had a lift. getting up the stairs with luggage was difficult. To be fair the staff helped with the luggage to the room which was a godsend.

We picked the Ashley for the location and it was a perfect fit for our travels. We had two wonderful pubs directly across the street. The live music in both pubs was authentic local and traditional. The hotel was comfortable, the upstairs lounge was a nice perk for evening drinks and conversation. The staff were phenomenal! Parking was convenient, we parked in the deck. The town was great fun and we walked everywhere.
I can't say there was much of anything that disappointed us.

The location of the hotel was excellent. A real city centre location. The staff were really friendly and helpful as well
The decor was very out dated the the room was quite small as well. It says parking on website but there are only 7 small parking spaces. You will most likely need to use Carroll's quay car park so make sure to book it

It’s a quirky, independent hotel in a great location near the English Market, etc. Staffers were pleasant and the room was very clean.
It’s in an old building without elevators. Even the first floor rooms are up more than one flight of stairs. For my husband and me (both in our seventies), the stairs and meandering layout were only a minor annoyance at check-in and check-out. FYI, the comedy club next door generated very little noise.

I really cannot think of a single redeeming thing about this this place. Some of the staff were pleasant I suppose. It is pretty centrally located.
This is BY FAR, the absolute worst, most overpriced hotel I have ever stayed in, in my life. Aside from the crumbling walls and horrible dated decor, the smell of damp was sickening.
I travel a lot for work and stay in some really basic places, so I am not by any means picky. I had 2 major issues in my 2 day stay;
1. One day when I returned from work, there was someone else's underwear and socks dumped on the floor of my room. When I asked for an explanation, I was just told the cleaner must have dropped them (Why the cleaner would be carrying dirty underwear around was not explained) They then brought the cleaner out to apologise to me at reception, which was very uncomfortable.
2. I parked in the Hotels car park in a designated spot with markings. At around 6.30 in the morning, I got a call to the room demanding that I get up and move my car because someone was having difficulty getting out of their spot (there was plenty of space)
For this hotel to charge what the charge is unbelievable, there are a lot of much nicer hotels in the area for much cheaper. Save yourself the misery and avoid this place at all costs.

The staff is amazing. My son got sick, so we needed to extend our stay, and they did their best to accommodate us.
