This is an elegant hotel in the Wellington Road/St Lukes area of the Northside of Cork City, looking out over the south side of the city. It was easy to find and the car park is big. It's an easy walk down to town, through an old area of the city. The hotel wears its Northside vibe proudly; even the restaurant is called "North". As a Northsider, I appreciated the effort. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. Service there was prompt and friendly and the food was good. It's a great place to have a nice meal and then sprawl for a while with one of Cork's finer whiskeys. What else....? There is an electric car charger in the car park. It's a bit of an antique to be honest and it's not sited very well but it worked. Cost: eur5/2hrs.
The reception staff seemed to be undergoing training so I'll pass on that. There was some confusion around when we could book in. We were earlier than expected, to be fair. My wife also commented that the mattress could have been firmer. The room was nicely appointed but the mattress let it down.

The hotel is on the top of a hill, so it has amazing views. it also has gym facilities, which unfortunately I couldn't use as I was only there for 1 night and arrived after it closed.
Due to the location, the options for food outside the on-site restaurant are limited without getting a cab or ordering via deliveroo/uber eats, etc. But it depends on the purpose of your stay and what you're looking for. A big issue i had was the TV in the room. The remote simply didn't work without pressing the button so hard your thumb wanted to fall off. I called for assistance and was told all the TVs on site have the same issue, and even with an alternative remote, it was the same. The kind lady did say that they were due to be replacing them soon.

The location was lovely and the room was fabulous and very clean. The coffee machine was an unexpected bonus and the room very spacious.
The breakfast was only fair and the tv remote failed to work most of the time.

The room was comfortable and a good size.
Some of the paint peeling off the walls, the decor was showing signs of age. TV didn't have access to sky/ESPN. No mini coffee machine in the room, no fridge in the room. The location is on a steep hill with no access to anything. Went down to the restaurant late but no food service due to a burst pipe or something.
