Very Poor
Nothing. Everything is just awful. The room is unkept and the food gives me food poisoning.
I had a very disappointing experience at The Phoenix Hotel Yogyakarta.
The room was rundown and poorly maintained. The bathroom was visibly unclean, with rust stains and heavy water marks throughout. It did not feel properly maintained for a hotel of this category. Even more concerning, my parents’ room had visible blood stains on the bedsheets, which was unacceptable and extremely disturbing.
Unfortunately, the experience worsened after dining at the hotel restaurant. After dinner, I suffered from severe food poisoning and was in significant pain for four days. This greatly impacted the remainder of our trip.
Given the hotel’s reputation and pricing, I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness, maintenance, and food safety. Sadly, this stay did not meet even basic expectations.
I hope the management takes hygiene and maintenance more seriously in the future.

Lovely atmosphere it is iconic as a mini palace , vibes are beautiful it’s like a royal it gives a feel that u r a king and queen if I travel again will start there again just loved it
Well all was amazing but the girl told me no room’s available when I asked pool view then I had to pay extra to get it so it wasn’t full rooms as she said that’s all

The whole staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the pool area and the fact that it had some history.

Beautiful historic building with stunning stained glass and elegant lobby. Very nice pool. Rooms are clean in a basic way. Spacious and well decorated in traditional style. Kind staff, somewhat limited English skills. Very helpful in getting me a driver and planing tours and such. Compliments to the wonderful staff, who really made our stay memorable.
Unfortunately, this is a very run down property in need of a lot of work to make this a true five star hotel. Very dingy and run down in parts. Needs repainting, doors need to be refinished, this type of thing. Worst part is the restaurant. Absolutely terrible food. Literally inedible. We tried dinner and breakfast and both were bad. Unfortunately due to this, I would not stay here again.

All the staff were super friendly! The hotel is classically beautiful but showing its age.
The breakfast could have been special, it has lots of variety.
However none of the dishes that were supposed to be warm actually were. Except for the egg station all foods were room temperature and the meats usually dried out and overcooked. Somewhat disappointing imo.

Everything about this hotel is wonderful. Well preserved and maintained Heritage Hotel with lovely features everywhere you look. Great Ambience. Very friendly and efficient staff. Marvelously Comfortable Rooms. Great Buffet breakfast as well as the Al La Carte menu available throughout the day.
