Nestled amidst lush greenery and surrounded by the natural beauty of Yogyakarta, Rajaklana offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The resort’s traditional yet elegant architecture blends seamlessly with the serene landscape, creating a peaceful sanctuary where time slows down. Every detail, from the intricate wooden carvings to the soothing sounds of nature, added to the charm and authenticity of the experience.
My accommodation was nothing short of spectacular. The room was tastefully designed with a blend of modern comfort and Javanese heritage, featuring spacious interiors, luxurious bedding, and a private terrace that overlooked stunning views of the surrounding nature. Waking up to the soft rays of the morning sun, the chirping of birds, and the cool breeze was a refreshing and rejuvenating experience.
One of the highlights of my stay was the resort’s exceptional hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every moment was enjoyable, always ready to assist with a warm and friendly demeanor. Whether it was arranging local tours, recommending hidden gems in the area, or preparing personalized meals, their attention to detail and dedication to guest satisfaction made me feel truly special.
The dining experience at Rajaklana was another delight. The on-site restaurant offered a delectable selection of traditional Indonesian cuisine and international dishes, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Dining under the open sky, surrounded by nature, while savoring the rich flavors of local delicacies was an absolute treat.

The room or rather villa was spacious with an open-air shower and bathtub. The room came with a fan and airconditioning and the bed was soft and comfortable. It was quiet and serene too which made for a relaxing holiday amidst nature. We had a fantastic view from our villa and access to the pool was just a few steps away. The pool afforded a spectacular view of the horizon (could only see sunsets as it faced west). What made it superb was that everyone who worked in the resort are super friendly and polite. When the gardening crew saw us heading down to the pool. they informed their colleagues to bring us pool towels! How considerate and kind.
I don't think I found anything that I didn't like. While their restaurant is about 1km away, they offered a free shuttle anytime we needed to get to the restaurant.

Easily accessible by Grab/Gojek, this resort is a hidden gem that offers great views of the surrounding nature. Room was clean and spacious, with a large poster bed for the resort vibes. The balcony was nice to chill at, and love the outdoor shower with a Balinese vibe. Staff were friendly and helpful. The highlight was the infinity pool - perfect to catch the sunset and take in the gorgeous surrounds. Highly recommended!

Really nice place with beautiful view from the pool. Staff are very friendly. Food was good with vegetarian options available.
The stone bathtub was really nice. Overall the room was very comfortable.
Our room was located far away from the pool, meaning we were closer to the road behind the resort. You couldn't see the road but the noise was quite loud at rush hour times. Wifi is not that strong in the room, making it hard to work there if you need good internet. The desk and overall comfort of the room were fabulous for working though.
If you plan to explore by foot, be warned: pavements don't really exist and any exploring by foot means walking on the side of a busy road. Other than that there aren't that many things to do in the surrounding area.
So in general a good place to just relax and zone out for a few days but not ideal as a basis to explore from by foot.

My experience at this hotel was far from relaxing. Despite booking a villa that was advertised as serene and tranquil, I was shocked to find that it was located right in the middle of a noisy children's playground. The constant noise and commotion completely ruined any hope of a peaceful getaway. The misrepresentation of the surroundings in the pictures is unforgivable, and I'm extremely disappointed. The staff doesn’t speak proper English as well.
Since they were not able to come with a compensation, we decided to leave the property. I hope I will warn people from coming here!

Coping with the many roosters that are awaken by the sound of the Muezzins can be a bit painful.. sleeping after 4.30am is not that easy.. despite ear plugs. But clearly, still love the place!

The staff is incredibly friendly, rooms are very clean and the view is amazing. Quick note the hotel has two areas 2km apart, one is with the restaurant, zoo and kids playground, the other is with the spa area and the swimming pool. Make sure to get rooms close to the swimming pool as the ones close to the kids playground are not quiet at all. The food from the restaurant is delicious.

As far as you booked a suite, Rajaklana resort, the service is top. You will have a marvelous view over the jungle. As this resort has two sites, rajaklana resto and rajaklana resort, you will order your meals in time, because it will be delivered to you from rajaklana resto. The rooms are very luxurious.
The swimming-pool is not so comfortable. Dinner will be served in Rajaklana resto, an estafette(relays,courier) will bring you to it, 1 km. There on the top floor you will have an even better panorama view.
You will be quite far from the city or any restaurant. Without car or scooter this could be a problem. Of course you can take a grap or Gojek. Into town it will cost you a minimum of 5 euro, half an hour drive.

- We didn’t realise the restaurant and pictures of the bar stools over looking the trees were separate to the accommodation but the shuttle service was great and you can also order room service.
- It’s quite loud because the wooden walls are thin so can hear lots of mosque chants and the nearby road. This wouldn’t stop us staying again though.
- They were doing construction below the pool area but this wasn’t affecting during the weekend
