Comfortable room with fan, lovely common areas with beautiful art, access to tea and coffee, hot water in shower, very attentive and lovely staff. Quieter location in nice neighbourhood, a 20min walk away from the main town.
Nothing!!

Really great experience here! The room was private, spacious, clean and everything was working well. The outside balcony was also private. The art is beautiful and everyone involved in running the place was lovely and helpful. There's a "common" area too where there is water, tea, coffee, with some tables so if you have some friends it would be a nice place to stay together, too. I can't recommend this place enough!

Very Good
The homestay was simple, in a quiet street and the hosts were very sweet and friendly, the room was very clean and they provided towel and toilet paper. Was nice to be surrounded by art.
The room was quite hot, I just used it to sleep. With the fan on I slept very good, however the house itself quite hot and I wouldn’t chill there, but stay there just for sleeping.
It was quite loud during the call for prayer but after the first night I got used to it and didn’t hear it.
The hosts were nice but didn’t give me much advice on where to go or how to get around, but luckily I found other tourists that helped me.
It’s quite safe and many restaurants are around.

I have special and wonderful experience here, it contributed to me falling in love with Yogyakarta. If you are an arty person, you will love staying here. Not to mention, the price is extremely reasonable.
The whole building and bedroom is very beautiful with a serene, inspiring feeling - even better than the photos. Many artworks to admire and lots of art books to read. The single bedroom was very clean and the family is lovely. Free tea, coffee, drinking water, shared mini fridge.
I loved learning about the late Godod Sutejo, learning about his generous and artistic way of life and admiring his tranquil & playful paintings.
My only regret is that I could not stay longer, next time I am in this city I will 100% stay here.
Honestly, nothing. I used mosquito repellent but I did not see any mosquitoes around. I did notice that smoking is allowed inside, no one smoked during my stay so it was fine.

Everything was incredible. Is a place with a lot of heart and positive energy. My only regret is that I couldn’t say goodbye to the staff the morning I left (I hope they read this and know that I am very grateful and wish them the best).

Good
The room was very clean.
You were able to come and go as you pleased.
Beds were comfortable.
Rooms have a fine size, more than what most travellers will need.
Fan was very powerful so it didn't feel hot in the room.
A lot of interesting artwork inside the building giving it a different feel than most homestays in Indonesia.
The location was perfect for me as I had to take the bus to go to my next destination.
Just like many rooms in Indonesia they have some ventilation holes above the door. In this case they had not added any net to keep insects out which caused me to wake up at 3 in the night with multiple mosquito bites including on the face.
As a foreigner from the west my main concern in Indonesia is mosquitos so I would recommend placing some netting to keep insects out at night.
Shower facility is fine, water pressure and temperature is good but I would recommend setting a shower curtain up to separate the bath and toilet so the water doesn't get everywhere.
The lock to the room does not seem very safe, even though I didn't try I am quite sure that by pushing the door in you could open the door even after locking it with your key, I would recommend having a look at that.

The space is beautiful and in such an amazing location. The homestay hosts were super kind and helpful. Couldn’t ask for much more
Lather up in mosquito spray if you’re prone to bites like me

Pleasant
I liked it wasn’t a typical hotel. Beautiful decor and wooden interior. The artists were up working at 5am when I left.
Bit far from other things and I didn’t see any other travellers. Perhaps good if you want to be more isolated or meditate alone. Not good if you want to be around other English speakers.

Friendly setting, and the art is interesting too: an unusual combination of accommodation and gallery. The location is good too, not too far from Alun-Alun and Taman Sari.
Crazy number of mosquitoes, and no mosquito net to keep them away. I also spotted a mouse (at least I hope it was just a mouse...)
