Great pool and very good spa. Very good restaurant. Beautiful lobby and entrance.
Too much noise on behalf of maintenance. The coffee machine in the restaurant is not a good coffee so you need to go upstairs to get a real cappuccino.

Everything about this place was amazing — perfect for families with kids! ? I might as well become their spokesperson ? My toddler absolutely loved the pool, breakfast spread, the wide open grasslands to run around, feeding the fish, the complimentary photoshoot (with free bubbles!), and all the fun kids’ activities. The view of Mount Merapi right at the entrance was simply breathtaking!

Everything Hyatt has. It might be long, but I will write anyway.
First of all, Hyatt is excellent not just because of the structure, but mainly because of their staff. The structure is great, especially because it is a resort in the middle of a big city. It has trees and a beautiful environment with a view of the volcano Merapi! INCREDIBLE. You can even contemplate the sunset from there.
But what I want to highlight is the staff — from the guy who communicated with me, Tom (sadly I didn’t meet him in person), that was very honesty to say point out before my coming that they had part under renovation what, by the way, never bothered us at all, to the staff in the spa, pool, reception, and the wonderful people in the restaurant. The best thing about Hyatt is their staff!
I have been in several hotels (including other Hyatts), and both my wife and I agree that the Hyatt in Yogyakarta has the best staff I have ever met. They are not just professionals — they really smile at you and welcome you (not a fake smile though). From the guy who took our luggage (Pak Rudi), to the receptionist (Kevin), and several other people whose names I don’t remember, to the guys in the spa — great massages, by the way — Siarif, Wildade, Yawon; and to the people in the restaurant — Ibu Sri, Adil, Sugeng, Peni, Dimas, and many others whose names I sadly don’t remember.
I just want whoever reads this to know that they have great people — professional and kind — to take care of your needs.
The pool and slide are amazing for the kids, the spa with the jacuzzi, sauna, cold pool, and massage is great, the environment is warm, and the food is amazing — SUCH AN AMAZING BREAKFAST!!
Not sure what else to say besides that the Hyatt is my and my family’s favorite hotel ever.
I don’t have anything that I didn’t like, but I do have two small (or big) suggestions:
1. It would be wonderful to have an indoor playground for the little kids on rainy days — maybe a space big enough for them to run and play and get tired (I’m a dad of four, so I know what I’m talking about… hehe).
2. At the pool, between the big one and the one with the waterfall, there’s a small slide that, according to the staff, is permanently closed. I would suggest removing that slide if it’s no longer in use. As a guest who plans to come often, it gives the impression that it’s just broken and not being taken care of. I know that’s not the case, but for people who don’t know, it might seem that way.

Breakfast spread was great with local cuisine to sample for the curious.
There was some issue with liquor license we were told and next day when we persisted with our enquiry we were offered beer and wine. SO not sure why we weren't given correct information in the beginning itself. Could have been handled better.

Excellent rooms, we got a free upgrade to a bigger room when we arrived which was a great surprise. The staff is amazing, everyone is welcoming and polite, these guys deserve the world. Breakfast was great, a lot of things to choose from. Overall one of the best experiences we had in Indonesia

We enjoyed the refurbished room, very nicely updated. Pool and landscape was great. Breakfast service and staff were very friendly. Check in and out were comfortable.
This was the third time we stay in this hotel. Unfortunately the housekeeping and maintenance staff were not following proper standard operating procedure.
1. Housekeeping failed to replenish the amenities and tea/coffee two days during our stay, we had to request for them and when it was delivered the staff knocked once and barged in to the room. I was with my baby at the time and surprised a stranger just came into the room.
2. Maintenance staff came in without removing their shoes prior to entering the room.
3. We got moved to another room due to electrical issue in the first room, but the second room shower drain was clogged. When the maintenance guy open the drain, it was full of hair and poop. They did clean it eventually but it just showed how low their housekeeping standard has become.
