Cottages set in a large, meticulously maintained garden with a direct view of Tonohon‘s vulcano, Gunung Lokon. Centrally located to explore the Minahasa highlands. Lavish breakfast with lots of seasonal fruit and freshly squeezed juices. For dinnner we had lpcal food adapted to Western Palastes (Minahasans like their food real spicy!). The friendly and weil-trained staff looked after us very well
Bring ear-plugs - the army people and churches nearby love to use their PA-systems early in the morning. That, of course, is not the fault of Gardenia

Local breakfast had a variety. The menu was rotated daily. Set up was excellent on days when we were the only guests in house. Awesome that tea time snacks and drinks were included.
Eggs to order were a little overdone and a tad salty. Maybe if only 1 room was occupied, they could ask the guest which juice they would prefer for breakfast to prevent wastage. Would be great if a shot of kunyit asam or a drink of wedang jahe could be offered upon request for breakfast.

Amazing view on Mount Lokon and the beautiful Garden. The bungalows itself are so nice from the outside and clean on the inside.
English of staff could be better but it was enough to get through.

Gardenia country Inn is the perfect place for a little bit of confort and relaxation in a clean place. The hosts are very welcoming and take great care of the property and yourself. Would definetly recommend. (And the food is great!)

The view is stunning and the garden is wonderful. It is very convenient to dine on site in a quiet and peaceful environment.
There will be help to find a driver to take you around.
We have mixed feelings about the facilities itself. It was spacious and comfortable, but some aspects of the room might need some refurbishment or maintenance, thinking about the bathroom in particular. Let's say we found it a bit expensive for the aging room.

Beautiful garden and good location to explore the nearby volcanos.
Delicious food and very friendly staff.
Loud noise from neighboring area starting around 4 / 5am in the morning. Seems like a party center. Such a pity!

The grounds are stunning. A horticultural paradise full of birds in the foothill of the mountains. The cafe and dining area beautifully situated with mountain views. Accomodation dispersed around the property thoughtfully. Comfortable beds and linen. Well designed bungalows with fresh flower arrangements from the gardens.
The noise from the village is continuously disturbing and on one night deafening. It is near the army barracks so expect a very loud trumpet at 5am. There are outdoor public address announcements not long after in the morning which can involve a lot of off key singing for long durations and are very loud and disturbing. An event at the neighbouring barracks went until 2am. Until midnight this involved terrible trash disco so loud and adjacent to the property that the window panes in the bungalows were vibrating from the bass. It was bizarre how much public address takes place, how incredibly loud this is and how much bad singing and loud music this involves. The water pump near the bungalows continually switched on and off and was very loud, the bearings were screeching and it did not have any acoustic insulation. Overall this severely impacted the quality of the stay.

Stunning natural setting. Great view from our cottage. Lovely and very well maintained grounds. Great restaurant and super friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommended for staying in tomohon.

Green, manicured garden , magnificent view of Lokon volcano. Easy to find location too. Clean and well maintained.
Maybe the pathway to the room can be better, because we got the furthest end and the big stones was a bit muddy.

The grounds are beautiful. It is like staying overnight at a botanical garden! The food was some of the best on the trip. Breakfast included 3 kinds of fresh squeezed juice and delicious Sulawesi coffee. The food at all the meals was "fresh from the garden" delicious, local and plentiful.
It was a bit strange trying to book, as booking.com said there was no availability for one of our nights, yet we were the only guests there and it is a big resort (30-40 rooms). I found an email for reservations somewhere (maybe on FB?) and they were very responsive via email.
It is such a tranquil place and yet one of our nights there was SUPER loud music coming from somewhere outside of the resort. It did not go all night, but it was booming when were trying to fall asleep.
