Very interesting a historical property. Great restaurant and bar. The facilities are well maintained and clean, and the rooms are nice.
The bathroom in our room was pretty small, and the shower head was old and didn’t work very well, easy and cheap to replace so I’m disappointed that this was an issue with a nice hotel. Also, the bed was very hard.

Breakfast was excellent especially the Indonesian breakfast.
Noice from the gym was tooo loud early Friday morning And noise at night coming from somewhere outside, but it stopped at 11 pm

The staff were all very helpful and kind. I enjoyed the food at the restaurant and it was very convenient to have a tasty place to eat onsite. The room was large and comfortable, the pool very nice to sit by, and tea time was awesome. It’s also a convenient walk from several fun areas to explore. Definitely will stay again next time I’m in Malang.

This hotel has a lots of history which we did not know before we came. It seems an old mansion from a rich Chinese family converted to a hotel. It is amazing to still keep vast spaces and many collections as the old house, like a museum to walk through. This reminds me the Blue Mansion in Penang. Unfortunately, we did not have time to enjoy the exhibition in more details. My recommendation is, to plan more time in this property to appreciate the house itself. The hotel itself is very nice. Service is good. One of restaurants we tried was decorated beautifully, and has lots of local/Asian and interesting options. The hotel sits in the center of Malang.
We had a room facing the main road outside. The sound proof is overall good, but we can still hear a bit motorbike sound. It does not bother us much. After all, it is inside a busy town.

As always a wonderful experience, travelling back in time to old Java. The staff was very welcoming, king and efficient. Our room was very nice and spacious. The food at Melati restaurant very good
it is still a bit rundown and a bit of attention is needed in certain areas of the hotel...a face lift could really help

Immediately felt a sense of peacefulness on entering the hotel. The facilities are well maintained and very beautiful ; it has an incredible collection of old artefacts from Asia . The staff were always attentive and helpful.

It’s a stunning hotel, so different to anything else! It’s like stepping back in time in the best way possible with lots of beautiful artwork and antiques dotted around. The hotel is in the middle of the city, yet it’s so large with so much greenery around, it feels like you’re in a secluded location somewhere instead. The rooms are beautiful and the bed comfy too! The food is delicious as well, we would recommend both restaurants as we had the opportunity to dine at both and can hand on heart say it was some of the best food we had in Indonesia. The complementary Javanese afternoon tea with biscuits was a nice touch too, and the teas were delicious! Also the staff were lovely and so attentive, even dropping us off at the train station on the last day as we were rushing to get to the train and they noticed we were struggling with our luggage.
A slight niggle, but it would be nice to have a buffet breakfast option every day. On one of the days, we were informed it was a la carte only, which was delicious but we had a tour that we needed to be ready for at a certain time so we had to rush eating our breakfast and couldn’t finish all of it as it’s freshly cooked to order and takes significantly longer than a buffet. That’s our only slight niggle with the hotel though!

This hotel is extraordinary! The staff is heartwarming friendly and also speaks very good english. The Hotel is kind of an oasis right in the middle if the city, where you feel at home and can relax after a city Tour or Bromo sightseeing. The Pool area is really nice, the hotel is huge and there is much to discover - its a little bit like living in a museum :) Everyday you get free afternoon tea with delicious pastries from the own bakery. In the eveving you habe the choice of two Restaurants (indonesian/Western and vietnamese). The menu of the indonesian Restaurant is huge, but all dishes are very delicious and made with so much love. We would haved loved it to stay longer than two nights!

Where to begin! Everything about it was fantastic. The staff are absolutely brilliant, all such lovely amazing people. It was so nice to meet them all. The breakfast was delicious, so many options and courses and all of them absolutely fantastic. There is also a buffet so you can try traditional foods, and the staff took time especially to explain everything to us. The food at dinner was equally as superb, we ate at both restaurants and enjoyed every meal. There were so many different choices, and good options for vegetarians. The hotel itself is like an amazing museum; if you appreciate art and history this is the place for you. There’s so much to see and enjoy, every room is full of treasures. You could spend an afternoon exploring the hotel itself. The bathroom is amazing, and we had a little garden outside our room which we loved! The beds were luxurious and the air conditioning was great. The staff helped us organise trips, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. We went to Bromo, and explored waterfalls. They even offered to drive us to the train station when we were leaving, and help us buy the tickets. The complimentary 10 minute massage was brilliant. The masseuse was very talented. My daughter enjoyed a flower bath, and found it beautiful and very soothing. The complimentary afternoon tea with such a great range of traditional cakes was an added bonus, we really enjoyed it, especially after long day trips. We couldn’t believe the attention to detail, any small comment made the staff picked up on. They are so thoughtful. Honestly everything was perfect, I cannot compliment it enough.
