Beautiful cooling temperature. Layback town. The breakfast in Villa Wastra is beyond words, superb delicious Balinese style congee. There are also bread with jam, cheese, fruits, milk, coffee, tea & biscuits.
Spider in the room hahaha .. The bedding can be better .. Traffic situation is not that organise in the town.

villa wastra is spacious and beautiful. the rooms are gigantic, you feel like royalty. excellently equipped and pristine. i loved the terrace, pool and the host who spoke perfect english and was able to accommodate our requests.
the only downside you should take into consideration is the remote location so it is a bit of a fieldtip to go anywhere. even tho, perfect for a couple days of relaxing and recharging in nature.

Had a really nice stay at Villa Wastra. After a long driveway you'll reach a beautiful secluded villa which immediately felt very quiet and peaceful to me. This is the perfect place to come to rest and enjoy the view, also the room was huge! The owner Maria is very nice and I had really nice talks with her. In the evening its possible to get a really good homecooked dinner here and in the morning you can enjoy a great breakfast outside with a great view.
The only thing I can think of is that the wifi connection in my room was not strong enough, on the other hand its sometimes also nice to be offline. Especially in a place like this:)

It was such a big luxurieus place in the middle of nowhere. Very quiet, it felt Royal. Very nice staff, very nice rooms, Abundance in quietness.
No AC, but no need, because it quite cool. Lack of proper restaurants even at a scooterable distance away.

Villa Wastra was great. A lovely old Balinese house in the middle of the jungle, we enjoyed just chilling as a family. It is not really close to anything but we had our own car so that is how we wanted it. The staff served us excellent breakfast (included) and a nice home-cooked dinner when we asked if they could. Very relaxing and will go back!
There was a slight miscommunication when we checked in, so one of the rooms was not ready when we checked in at 5pm, but that was quickly sorted out without issue (it helped that we were the only people staying in the villa that night).

This is a beautiful, traditional Balinese home that has been adapted for travellers. It looks as though it has grown up out of the jungle. The rooms are huge with a hot/cold water system for drinking with a full sized fridge and microwave. Breakfast is extensive. The walls are so thick you're insulated against the usual noises of dogs barking and roosters/hens. The host enjoys a chat and we exchanged views and knowledge on many subjects.
The lack of quality wifi. However, there is an upgraded system available for emergencies. You need to download Netflix movies prior to arrival if you want this entertainment.

First time I came here, but you feel like visiting your friends place. Just one night stayed there, from arriving time, and have a dinner together, it was just awesome! Thank you so much Mariah, I also try to come back to Bali and come back to your place. View from the Villa, and quietness, very spacious room, all I liked.
Remote area, especially with heavy rain, but you will be come into completely another world.
If you come from crowded beach or centre of Ubud, its really worth!

Our experience in this place exceeded in many ways our expectations. It's not a hotel, it's not a bed and breakfast, it's like staying at a friend's Villa right in the middle of Bali. A very luxurious, comfortable, clean Villa where, as your friend, Mariah, the owner, is waiting for you to talk and prepare breakfast and dinner at home, exceptional food that we could not find anywhere else in Bali. Mariah is an intelligent, acculturated woman who knows about several cultures. She makes this place so special and the provided food is varied, delicious and abundant. In addition to her company and attention, this place is the perfect place for a couple to relax, think, read, write and be inspired. It's exactly like in the pictures, or even better. If you do not carry many suitcases, we recommend you travel with a motor scooter, so from there you will easily reach the Volcano, Tegalalang, Ubud, or explore other small towns around. Although Villa Wastra can organize a shuttle service if you do not want to rent the scooter. It is a place in the jungle to enjoy the peace of the nature, and feel inspired. The only thing we regret was staying there only 4 nights. This will undoubtedly be the place where we will return on our next trip to Bali.

I cannot recommend Villa Wastra highly enough. It was by far the most beautiful accommodation we stayed at anywhere in Indonesia. Set in the jungle on the side of a valley with breath taking views. The hostess Mariah went above and beyond what anyone would expect to help us. She is so knowledgeable about all things Indonesian and Bali and helped us immensely with transport and sightseeing advice. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful and the evening meals were amazing. The wifi was great as well. It's secluded and super relaxing. When we go back to Bali Villa Wastra will be the only place we will stay. We loved it and want to thank Mariah for letting us enjoy her wonderful Villa.
