The outdoor space was great, the shared pool area and the breakfast area was really cozy. Breakfast was fine and we got a welcome drink which was good as well. Location was the best - it was close to the beach and the cool restaurants of Canggu!
The outdoor bathroom concept did not work well. The bathroom was really humid, attracting lots of insects, so you didn't want to leave your tooth brushes and toilet stuff at the bathroom. The staff offered to spray the room with insect spray but they mentioned that we had to leave for minimum two hours as it was not good for our health to be in the room for two hours after the spray, so we declined the offer as we wouldn't feel comfortable sleeping there afterwards. In our bathroom there was a leak from the bathroom wall, which was solved with placing a mat on the floor. This meant that every time we went to the bathroom and stepped on the mat, it was like stepping on a sponge full of water. Also there was no small towel provided for hands, so you had to use your big bath towel. The carpet on the bed did not feel or look clean - it had stains and it seems like it was sprayed with perfume and that was it (however, linen, pillows etc. were clean).

Amazing friendly staff, the breakfast was incredible (we got the granola every day!) and the villa was cute and private! Excellent location too - walkable to everywhere we wanted to go/eat.
Our air con was leaking into our bathroom which created a puddle, and there were no hooks for towels or anything in there which was a tad annoying. Also, this is no fault of the bungalow, but there was constant dog barking throughout the night (all three nights!) - if you are staying here pack earplugs!

Calmtree is tucked away down a short street right off Batu Bolong in Canggu. You can't beat the location. It's a short walk to the beach, great restaurants, and shopping. The bungalows are gorgeous, the beds are very comfortable and the staff are lovely and very helpful. There are lots of choices at breakfast so you'll start your day well nourished. It's very serene and relaxing and the pool is lovely. Sitting out on my little balcony and looking over the pool was very relaxing. And again, it is an incredible location in Canggu - so easy to get around. Some things to note for travellers - I'm not putting these as negatives because they didn't bother me but I like to be helpful in my reviews and they may not be what others are looking for. Housekeeping is minimal eg. you will have to refill your own water (just steps away in the restaurant) and you'll have to ask for new toilet paper, but they are quick with making your bed and giving you fresh towels every day, oh and they won't replace your glasses. The bungalows can get noisy. You will hear other guests out on their balconies or by the pool chatting and at night you will hear the noise from Canggu eg. music and bikes but this all calms down by midnight. Like I said, this didn't bother me but if you're someone looking for a super quiet location, it's worth mentioning. Recommended to do in the area - Old Man's market on Saturdays (9 minute walk), La Brisa market on Sundays (15ish minute walk) - and stay for a drink ;) - both right on the water. I can't wait to come and stay again!

The description of the rooms is misleading and wrong! Bungalow with a view to the pool ?? Unfortunately, they put us in a side room (6) without any view, the only bungalow that is not facing the pool!

We loved everything! Nice, clean and new bungalow where you can enjoy some quiet space while been still very central. We loved the swimming pool as well, and breakfast was also delicious. But definitely the staff being so kind, helpful and thoughtful made our stay very special!

Absolutely GORGEOUS atmosphere. We had a private villa and It was so beautiful and peaceful!
The rooms were cleaned daily, and the staff were so incredibly beautiful and welcoming.
A little slice of heaven away from the hustle and bustle.
My Partner and I used to call it our save space and we wish we did not have to leave.
