Built in 1873 on the lush green and quiet Margaret Island in the center of Budapest, the Ensana Grand Margaret Island offers a spacious spa area with a selection of treatments. A heated underground hall connects the hotel to the neighboring Ensana Thermal Margaret Island, which features one of Europe's top health spas. The spa area is free of charge for guests and includes a thermal pool, a recreational pool, a 56 ft long swimming pool, a seasonal outdoor pool, various types of saunas and a steam room, which guarantee that you have a pleasant time. The medical center offers complex, personalized treatments lasting from a few days to several weeks for people suffering from joint, back, lumbar and neck pain, stress-related conditions and weight problems. The therapies are combined with the beneficial effects of thermal water from Margaret Island and medicinal mud from Hévíz. Guests can enjoy the a generous breakfast buffet set in the Széchenyi Restaurant, which offers a beautiful panoramic view and evokes the atmosphere of the heyday of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In good weather, the pleasant terrace overlooking the Nagy-rét in Margaret Island is also open for breakfast. In the autumn/winter season you can enjoy tasty snacks and quality drinks in the authentic club-style Viktória Bar, and in the spring/summer season in the Margaret Pub and its shady terrace. This is perfect place if your main goal is relax. The hotel is in the park island and have a spa with hot pools. Staff is helpful and the breakfast is excellent with very good variety. Also the hotel allows parking in front or in the island parking zone. We had unexpected bonus - without knowing it, we were there exactly for Hungary's national holiday and the Margaret Island was one of the best places to observe the fireworks and the drones show.
It is a bit far from the center and the walls are too thin.

The staff was great, the thermal pool and spa access was great, breakfast was good. The bathrooms have been recently renovated and look very nice.
The rooms need a make over. They are extremely old and out dated, which leads the room to look a bit dirty.

It’s a very charming place. The location is nice. Breakfast was very good.
I didn’t like the fact that the pool area in hotel was under construction. That was our major reason for choosing this location. However we were able to enjoy pool and spa in their sister hotel. But no space or specific time dedicated to kids. And many elderly guests were annoyed by my two small children (2,5). They were doing their best to behave. Nevertheless, I think there should be space or time in pool areas for family’s with small kids so every guests is happy. This is not adult only hotel.

Rich and varied breakfast in a special restaurant atmosphere with a beautiful terrace unfortunately not used the rest of the day. Excellent location on the beautiful Margaret Island. Nice spa, access is through long corridors which makes access unpleasant.
The interiors on the ground floor are impressive, unfortunately unexploited, serving only as passage rooms.

When I came the room was having a bag of some one else, When a person comes first time, the reception could have told about what are the facilities available for guest, which would help in exploring. Public transport and travel to city takes little time - no guidance is given.
