Wonderful
The hotel is absolutely beautiful and I was lucky enough to stay during the NY holiday period. Breakfast was great and the location (New York Cafe) was unreal. The room was very large and exquisite, but it did seem a bit old when I started looking at the details
The bathroom in the room was a bit old and seemed like it has seen better days.

Beautiful Hotel. Staffs are accommodating and very helpful. Food was very tasteful. We got to sit and eat from the famous New york Cafe. It was picture perfect. We were treated nicely.?
Toilet bowl was a bit dirty. Mirrors was not properly clean.

location is 30 min walking to the river but close to the street with restaurants

Our stay exceeded all expectations. The hotel perfectly combines historic architecture with modern luxury. The staff truly made the difference — always welcoming, professional and attentive. The room was immaculate, very comfortable and well soundproofed. The common areas and breakfast were outstanding. Without a doubt, one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had.

A really grand hotel and an amazingly ornate restaurant serving good food with live music. A great location for central Budapest. We had a couple of loose wall tiles in the bathroom and on inspection staff decided to move us to an even nicer room. Great service, friendly staff.

Wonderful hotel, very nice, pleasant.
Comfortable mattress.
Varied and complete breakfast.
Very friendly staff.
Only two flaws.
They need to improve the soundproofing of the windows. We were on the fourth floor and could hear all the traffic, especially the tram.
The low water pressure in the shower.

Great architecture, comfy bed
Room was dusty and not well maintained. There was only warm but no hot water.
Worst part: the chef de service of breakfast was unfriendly and made you feel really uncomfortable. Not one morning, every morning.

This hotel is an absolute embarrassment to anything calling itself “5-star” or “luxury.” My entire stay felt like a descent into chaos, and I honestly wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone.
Check-in was the first disaster. After a 9-hour flight and arriving at 2 a.m., the last thing you want is to wander around like a lost person because the staff can’t be bothered to help you find your room. This is the first so-called 5-star hotel I’ve ever encountered where the staff simply shrugged and left guests to figure things out on their own.Breakfast was another joke. Yes, it’s served in the Instagram-famous New York Café—but in some second-rate downstairs area, not the main space all the photos show. The food selection was pathetic for the price they charge, and the quality was equally disappointing. If you’re vegetarian or vegan, prepare to starve. To make things worse, the servers were painfully slow, clueless, and at times so inattentive they seemed to forget I even existed. And since the café entrance is right by the hotel entrance, every time you leave or enter the hotel you’re stuck in a queue of tourists taking pictures. Dragging your luggage through that mess is something I’ll never forget—and not in a good way.The spa was the final insult. The two women working there seemed far more focused on doing their makeup and flirting with male staff than providing any actual service. The steam room looked like a flooded mess with piles of used towels dumped at the entrance. The sauna was cold the entire time, and despite repeatedly asking staff to fix the temperature, nothing was done—because the person responsible was glued to her phone. The pool is tiny, the water is freezing, and the “relaxation area” is the opposite of relaxing thanks to the constant loud chatting and joking among spa employees.The room itself was no refuge either. Stains on the carpet, marks on the furniture, and clear signs that the place desperately needs serious renovation.

We loved everything about the property. The hotel is stunning, elegant, and beautifully maintained. The room was spacious and comfortable, the service was exceptional, and every detail, from the decor to the amenities, made the experience feel luxurious. The location was perfect for exploring Budapest, and the atmosphere of the hotel made us feel truly special throughout our stay.
There was nothing we didn’t like. Everything exceeded our expectations.
