Pleasant
Location, staff and breakfast were very good.
Rented a deluxe single. Did not understand that meant the room was on 2 floors with the bed on the upper and the bathroom was on the lower. And the stair case was very narrow. Slept on the pullout couch on the lower level. Very expensive for a bad room.

Very Good
Breakfast was excellent. Ivan was very helpful in telling us about the history of the palace and must see sights. The waitress for the outside seating for drinks was great. The location is excellent.
The room size was very small. It would have been helpful for staff to have change on hand (for leaving tips). The location was difficult to find and a challenge with luggage when we checked out. Ivan met us and helped us when we arrived, but there wasn't anyone to help at check out.

Fair
Very clean and well-designed.
The big thing about our stay was the massive difference between the main hotel in the Vestibul Palace and the annex building Villa Dobric which is OUTSIDE the city walls. We expressed our confusion and disappointment about not being in the main hotel. The staff were EXTREMELY defensive and a little rude since this is apparently a constant course of complaint and confusion. To their credit, they do explain in the booking confirmation that the two buildings are separate. However, only when you are there, does it become plainly obvious the main hotel is the far superior location within the city walls and right in the middle of it. It’s not that the Villa Dobric is bad; it’s still lovely. But I do feel they get bookings based on the main wonderful location of Vestibul Palace and then disclaim their way as they put you in Villa Dobric. I admit to not reading the confirmation carefully enough but, as lovely and close as it is, Villa Dobric is OUTSIDE the city walls and more like a home

Everything! Incredible location with comfortable amenities. The shower was a nice little surprise. The staff were all friendly, knowledgeable, and polite, but
Ivan went above and beyond. A true standout!!
Our stay was too short.

We stayed one extra night after our Sail Croatia departure, and the staff knew it was our honeymoon, and really made our last night special!
Bonus points for the staff because at around 12 am, our room was still really warm (not the hotels fault, it was an unprecedented heat wave in Europe), we asked if they had any type of fan, and within 8 mins they were at our door with a standing fan. Incredible service!!
The breakfast was great for the quick morning we had before needing to get to the airport. The bonus was the eggs made to order!
Nothing we didn't like! We'd absolutely stay again!

The location is great. Just a short walk to restaurants, bus stop, and taxis. The rooms are tucked away enough that is it not noisy at night.

Disappointing
Location to old town
The room smelled like sewer water. There was clearly some backed up plumbing somewhere in the hotel. Secondly, the fire alarm went off one night and the guy working the night shift had no idea what to do or how to shut it off. One of the other guests had to figure it out. Went off for an hour. Luckly no fire, but a bit concerning that there was no plan of what to do to investigate, account for guests and how to shut off. Guy was clueless.

Absolutely a gem of a hotel. Unique, hidden among the walls of Diocletians Palace. A small, beautiful, ultra modern hotel which works in this location. Wonderful staff, professional and charming. Rooms are lovely.

Wonderful
We truly appreciated the attention to detail from the concierge staff from the minute we arrived up to our 4 AM departure to meet our Uber driver. Petra even brought us breakfast to go to the airport!

Very Good
Great location inside the old walled palace. Modern rooms with good beds. Nice breakfast included. Staff was helpful in recommending swimming areas, restaurants and sites.
Minor inconvenience that we stayed in the annex building and had to walk to main hotel for breakfast and checkout.

Wonderful
We were only in Split for 1 night so wanted to stay right inside the Palace walls, and we sure got that with this property! Our room was well appointed, spacious, and quiet. We were really surprised, given how busy and loud the Palace is, that the hotel was so insulated. We even had happy hour at the restaurant outside the courtyard area was quiet and cool. Great stay. Staff was also incredibly helpful and friendly.
I don't remember receiving instructions about how hard the hotel was to find, so when we put it in Google Maps and were taken to the back alley entrance it was surprising. I am sure I could have missed them via email etc, and we found our way regardless.

Loved the historical building and surrounding courtyard. Well maintained and beautiful. Walkable to many shops and restaurants, as well as the Riva. Coffee and Breakfast were delicious. Such a charming place to stay!
Our mattress was a little sloped to one side.
