The location in the Old Town was great for sightseeing.
Located over a popular Taverna, the noise of the music was very loud and in the morning, the gas delivery at 0630 was an annoying alarm. There was no one at the property when we arrived and we had to ask a shop owner nearby to ring Nikolas(??) whose first concern was how I was going to pay.

The place is a hostel, dirty and unprofessionally managed by someone who doesn't speak English, is unprofessional and inappropriate. The cleaner pretends not to understand to not clean, my pillows were smelling of sweat I caught an eye infection and the bed frame was dusty and hadnt been cleaned in weeks clearly. The facilities are falling apart and the area is incredibly loud not in a lively way - rubbish trucks stopping and beeping early morning, dodgy people sitting across the door and sleeping there not sure if homeless or what. The terrace is nice but have the same view from other places in the square. I had 10 days booked on the 4th night I ran out and booked another accommodation.
I have raised a complaint to booking that went unheard. I frankly cannot believe the platform allows this accommodation to be advertised but I just leave this here hope it helps other female solo travellers stay safer

Wonderful
Lovely room, great location close to harbour and buses
This is no fault of the property owner, but this location may be a bit too noisy late at night for some. People can be heard leaving the harbour area up to 4am

Very central in old town
The block faces due south so has hot sun blaring straight at it nearly all day. Some rooms don’t have balconies and some do but living in either is a challenge as you’d have to draw the curtains and have the a/c on. Our room at the back was cooler but then you miss the view over Pl. Athinogora at the front. The tiny bathroom had 3 separate levels of little steps.

Great location in terms of exploring chania and close to the bus station. Comfy beds. We checked in late and staff were on hand over the phone to assist.
Whilst location good for exploring it was very loud!! Right on a busy street which had loud music and general noise until about midnight so was difficult to sleep. Couldn’t seem to get hot water either (although not major issue in summer)

No better than a hostel even though I have never stayed in one owner was terrible tried to tell us we would have to get alternative accommodation all through WhatsApp as he had to have operation and his mother in hospital sent pictures of mother to my daughters phone not appropriate my daughter contacted booking.com he then said we could stay seen him every day after no operation on him absolutely ruined our stay we were there to attend wedding and had nothing but stress and tears over place

The location was excellent.
Terrible experience with the host informing us that he could not fulfill our full length of booking and that the hotel was closing for a period of time. After a lot of back and forth, including involving booking.com, we got this resolved and were eventually "allowed" to stay. Highly unprofessional communications made us very uncomfortable and made our holiday incredibly stressful. Had there been other properties available last minute, we would have left immediately.

Location was great and room was spacious. Nicolas was available when needed. He even let us keep the room for an extra half day as it was empty.
Wifi wasn't working for the whole time and couldn't get it fixed due to weekend. Also the base of the toilet was missing and had to be fixed on the day we arrived but was eventually accommodated.

Wonderful
Rooftop terrace (in the making) with wonderful views. Great location. Nikolas was very nice and shared lots of information with us. Free bottled water.
Great location comes with noises, unfortunately. The taverns around were having live music until midnight.

The location is prime to visit and stay downtown Chania - lots of great shopping and resturants around.
The host was EXTREMELY difficult to communicate with for payment. We literally attempted to pay every day we were there only to be turned away. The older gentleman that was at the reception did not know how to operates the credit card machine so we could pay. The host waited until the last second for us to pay for our stay and forced us to get out of bed (earliy flight) to come downstairs to pay.
