Disappointing
The room is clean and okay. The building is beautiful. They offer free onsite secure parking in the back of the building which is quite nice.
The “amenities” were not as described. The “jacuzzi”is not heated and its freezing so it’s not usable at all (i think it’s only heated in winter and I wish it was more clear). The “gym” is a basement room with no A/C or vent, poor lighting, and just a few equipment thrown in, barely usable. The “sauna” is a one person setup that’s in a basement bathroom that you would need a staff to turn on. No bar/staff on the rooftop, we had to self-service to put cushions on the lounge chairs. Breakfast is disappointing. We had a change of plans and the staff showed zero interest in being flexible with our booking dates. When we checked out, we were told to pay for 2 waters from the mini bar, that we didn’t use at all. I was reading other bad comments and the owner’s responses are always something like ‘the customer was rude, and they used bad comments to blackmail the business to get freebies’. Hmmmm I wonder what they’ll say about me.

The building and the garden have a retrò charme that we liked. Big quiet room with a balcony.
Huge gated parking. Rooftop jacuzzi.
It's a nice walk to the center and the hotel is located just near a quiet beach
Very limited hours for the use of the jacuzzi and the roof bar. Small crowded breakfast room (but it was possible to eat in the garden).
Decor and furniture are quite outdated, but it makes sense for the overall style of the hotel

We arrived with a late flight, which was delayed (landed after 2:00AM).... and yet we didn't have any issues with the check-in - the taxi arranged by the hotel was waiting for us and the reception is 24/7 - great check in experience!
I really liked the location - me and my wife love to walk into the city - the city centre was close to the hotel.
Another great feature of the hotel was that they have a parking lot, which was great as we had a rental car.
The building itself is a historical one, they kept the design into the hotel which added another good vibe to our experience. Breakfast was good especially if you sit outside into the lovely garden. The staff was helpful and friendly - Thank you!
Our room was on the 1st floor (ground level) and considering that the building is old, there is a lot of moisture accumulation and smell of mold - I would recommend the management to look into this as matter as I believe that this could be solved easily and eliminate any unpleasant guests experience (especially if someone has some allergies)

Amazing hotel! Can't recommend it highly enough. The building itself is beautiful (it's the old Britishy embassy), the location is perfect (walking distance to the center of Chania), the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the entire facility is super clean, and the breakfast spread was excellent.

The tradeoff for not being downtown is that one is not downtown. There is a bus and taxis are cheap
