The terrace of the hotel provided a very pleasant outdoor dining ambience. The host and staff did their best to provide a good service.
The location of the double room was very prone to noise from the traffic as it faced a 3-cornered junction. The bed was very bad for the back. All in all, we didn't have much rest for the night.

Pleasant
the highlights were the terrace on the street, looking across the countryside plus the meal (served on the terrace) which was really good and, inevitably, the red wine was fabulous. There was plenty of hot water in the room.
the rooms are in desperate need of a refresh, both decor and fixtures. The bed was adequate and the pillows a joke; they were so thin and unsupportive.

Location of the hotel; ample parking nearby
The hotel looks run-down, with seemingly little effort from the owners to improve this. On the porch in front of the hotel there are many people smoking, and the smell penetrates the rooms, forcing you to shut down the windows. Bathroom of poor quality, with a handheld showerhose inside a bathtub; it took several minutes to get warm water. Breakfast looked poor, with brown fruit

Great location and good breakfast for the price. Room was very small but clean and we had a great view over the front. Ample free street parking adjacent to the hotel.
Small room and ensuite shower was very small too, but this hotel was a lot cheaper than others in the area so I guess you get what you pay for. There is a nightclub as part of the hotel - luckily the night we stayed it was very quiet so we weren't bothered by any noise.

Great location and easy to find. Public parking very close. Great atmosphere and good food. The bar/nightclub is amazing.. Very good breakfast. There is a programme of refurbishment and so there was a new lift etc. Our room was in the area refurbished and for once the heating worked! Great view from the bedroom over the vineyards. A short walk up to the centre of Sancerre.
Our room (109) was fine but the shower was a bit basic. The refurbishment had not reached that yet.

I loved this hotel .. really quirky surely a bit dated but so what.. it was alive …take it any day over a corporate ibis

The staff were friendly and the restaurant was excellent. Lovely view from the outside terrace. Great location for buying Sancerre wines. A quaint but faded venue.
Bathroom was ancient with only a bath and shower attachment with no proper plug so the water runs away. Absolutely no soundproofing at all, so I could hear the occupant in the room next door snoring even though I always wear ear plugs. We were woken at 6am by someone knocking on the room next door incessantly. Wi-Fi was non existent inside the bedroom and only available at the front of the building.

Exceptional
We strongly recommend to use the Restaurant and the bar, that belong to the Hotel. Really decent food especially the Opener Buffet is nice.
The choice for breakfast was quite small. The rooms are in a very traditional Style.

Lovely location, amazing staff and delicious food. Lovely atmosphere outdoors with families eating late at the restaurant.
You must remember that it is a budget hotel. Clean, super friendly but very basic rooms.

Location and views were fabulous
Hotel, room etc simple but clean and comfortable
It was a hot spell but lack of a/c meant we had to have door open and the noise from bar below went on til 2 am- on a Monday night!
