After reading the negative reviews about the old angry boss, I was a little uneasy but still booked this place. It exceeded all my expectations. The room was spacious, the street is quite quiet (we slept with a window open), very clean. The hotel has been taken over by the son of the boss and he is friendly. It's a gem, this place. P.s. we stayed in the part of the hotel with the lift. I think the two parts are quite different, but I haven't seen the other part myself.

A really nice hotel with great location, very close to Metro station Oberkampf with line 5 and 9 and a shorter walk to Filles de Calvaire with line 8.
Calm street but with everything you need just around the corner.
The room was very clean, and beautiful decorated. Can highly recommend!

Great hotel. Room is nice and clean. The staff is very nice and helpful. Close to metro station.
During our stay we got a room upgrade offered to us by the hotel ( courtesy by the hotel. Not as a compensation). All hotel and room has AC which was really important

This is a beautiful, truly "boutique" hotel. Tasteful, serene and well appointed. Both of our rooms were a nice size with comfortable beds, beautiful linens, and lovely decor. Perfectly cleaned and tidied each day by the housekeepers. Returning back at the end of each day was a pleasure.
The breakfast room and small lounge is elegant, looking out on a small garden. Breakfast itself was excellent with a nice selection of breads, cheese, fruit, cereals and yogurt and a perfectly boiled egg on request. Even the china on the table was exceptionally beautiful. The location is in a lively, but "local" district, close to several Metro lines and easily walkable for numerous restaurants and bars.

Not a tourist group in sight. Quiet, classy, personal. Good location on edge of the Marais and within a 20-30€ taxi ride of most major attractions.

As we were attending a concert at the Bataclan it was perfectly located. A great area loaded with coffee shops and places to dine. Within walking distance of 'Le Marais area of Paris.
This is Paris so room will be smaller but the space was smartly used.
Having a hook to hang toiletries would be helpful.

Location is fabulous - a Metro Station is literally down the street. The area was lively and safe - people in cafes, lots of small shops. The room was TINY (and I know rooms in Paris are small). I would go get coffee while my husband took his shower, just to give each of us some privacy. But it was very clean. All the furniture was very nice. The bed was comfortable. The staff were great. The breakfast room they have is lovely. I took my coffee outside to a small private garden.
No complaints at all except for the room being exceptionally small. Just be prepared for that.

The location was great. Easy access to the metro link and close to tourist attractions whilst being distant enough to experience the real Paris.
The hotel was spotless. I loved the furnishings too, it’s very tastefully decorated.
There was no kettle/tea and coffee making facilities in the room or a proper shower in which you could stand under. There was a shower head next to the bath taps so it meant crouching in the tub to wash. There was an option to have a bath but that isn’t realistic for a weekend break. Our room had a spiral staircase that lead up to the bathroom. It looked quirky but it soon became an inconvenience.
The only option to use the iron was in the breakfast room. I was advised this was because the fire alarm sensors were too sensitive. However, when I planned to use the iron the next morning it was unavailable as breakfast service was underway. When I asked if I could bring it to the room a male staff member quite rudely snapped at me and said I had plenty of opportunity to use it the night before. I felt awkward for the rest of my stay after this and I was taken aback at how I was spoken too.
Finally, the ‘carpets’ in the room were a hard plastic esque material. Luckily, the hotel provides disposable slippers.

Lacked a safe for valuables. Was a tad warm at night and difficult to regulate the temperature without opening windows. Also no coffee and tea making facilities

Comfortable bed and room but as usual with France, the star system doesn't seem to mirror up at all with that elsewhere in the world. A bit of service, tea and coffee making facilities would make all the difference.
1. No coffee in the room & no kettle.
2. Sink in the bedroom rather than bathroom.
3. Automatic door was always in close mode, needed a key card to access and staff never opened door for guests.
4. Mould on the bathroom ceiling.

It is located very close to the metro station. The area is very lively but quiet during night. The room is equipped with all the necessary amenities. The bed is very comfortable. And the room is VERY clean. The staff is kind and helpful. Very satisfied with my stay.
