Disappointing
Location is great of course, and the food and service at the Cafe de La Paix were excellent. My mother and I had a fantastic dinner and lunch there, fresh oysters and lovely live singer. I booked the opera view room and the views from the room was indeed excellent. Loved the Byredo products in the bathroom as it was also my favourite scent from their line.
BEDBUGS: I woke up from the first night with 2/3 bites on my belly which was strange but I brushed it off, then more bites appeared on my belly in a line after the second night. I kept thinking this cannot be possible but now that I am home and done more research online I am certain. This has NEVER happened to me in my life, I cannot believe it.
Bathroom: had a permanent horrid damp/sewage smell coming out of the shower drains, ventilation wasn't great either overall, had too keep the windows open. The bathtub had peeling paint. Weak water pressure from the shower heads.
Bar: we sat down for a drink and snack, after 15 minutes without even a menu I tried to get this lady (shoulder length blonde wavy hair) attention and she almost lost her mind at me, all I did was catch her eye and lifted my left hand a little and she was very abrupt with me. After a long wait for menu then another wait to order, I ordered some oysters to snack on with my cocktail and she made a strange disapproving look at me, I said 'is it a bad idea' and she made an annoyed face and shook her head said no no. Are they so understaffed that they're just taking their frustrations out on customers now. The cocktail also took FOREVER.
Reception: Check out day was an absolute nightmare. I picked the line where there were only one guy on his own, and one elderly couple, so two sets of people in front of me who were checking in and helped by Sasha. I waited over 20 minutes with only TWO sets of people in front of me, the man next to her within that time had already processed 10 sets of people at least. The queues were getting crazy long and she was taking her sweet time without any regards. It's lovely that she wants to go above and beyond with her services but please keep in mind of people's travels.
AC: stupid hot waking us up sweating at night, goes to '19' degrees but not really.

The location is fantastic, the lounge is beautiful, the breakfast was good and the overall service great. The room was very nice although expensive.
Initiale we were allocated a room which we discovered had no bath. When we raider this the staff were very helpful in changing the room for the last 2 night of our 3 night stay
