The hotel definitely has character, very cool design and really wonderful staff. The breakfast is quite good, and the location is amazing.
The rooms did not correspond to the pictures at all, instead we had black walls, black carpet and very dark, tiny rooms with basically just a bed in it, more like a prison cell and less like an ibis hotel room with at least a shelf or so. The door didn't open a few times and one could hear through the walls. I guess the rooms are too small to fit anything else, but even the small stool was black, all very depressing and small. The pictures are bright, with a yellow wall and friendly, but our two rooms were black on black, small and spartan like a cell.

My room was advertised with a city view, when, in fact, it was looking into an inner courtyard.

Perfect location for Train connections and an evening out in Paris.
The staff were very helpful, booking a taxi for us that evening.

Small but clean room, very good location, easy to get anywhere from the hotel
The receptionist insisted that I haven't paid even when I showed him a bank transaction so I had to pay again. In the morning everything was quickly sorted with another shift, but first impression was not good. The first receptionist was not polite and we didn't feel welcomed.

Breakfast was included and very good fresh orange juice was an unexpected plus.
Room size was very small, we had to turn sideways to get past the bed to the bathroom.
Lighting was dull and the room paint as dark.

Bathroom is insanely very small and dark, but the location from Garde L'Est is very good.
Very small bathroom and the darkness of the room. Should add more lights.
