Housed in a 19th-century private mansion, this boutique hotel is a 3-minute walk from the Champs-Elysées and Grand Palais, as well as 656 feet from the River Seine and the Montaigne Avenue. It offers free WiFi, spacious and individually decorated rooms with rich fabrics and a restaurant with a glass-roof. All the richly decorated rooms at San Régis feature a flat-screen LED TV with satellite channels and carpeted floors. A welcome tray with mineral water, coffee and tea is provided. I have stayed at many five-star hotels in different countries, including Oman, Hungary, and Switzerland, and honestly, this experience in France was very disappointing compared to what I have experienced elsewhere. Considering the high price of this hotel, I expected a much higher standard. Unfortunately, the cleanliness was far below what I would expect from a five-star hotel. There was no toothbrush or toothpaste in the room, the bed was dirty and clearly had not been properly cleaned, and there was hair on the bed. The carpet was also extremely dirty, with several burnt areas. The coffee machine in the room did not work either. The only positive things I can mention are the location and the staff. The location is very good, and the staff were friendly and professional. But overall, for a five-star hotel and especially considering the price, the level of cleanliness and maintenance was simply unacceptable. I have stayed at five-star hotels in Muscat, Hungary, and Zurich that were much cleaner and much better maintained.
