Friendly and helpful staff. Quiet location. Decent restaurants close by. Very close to convenient Metro and bus routes. No bath tub but excellent shower. The lavatory is a separate compartment. Drinking water replenished daily, although Paris tap water is safe to drink anyway. The breakfast fare never varies but is adequate for most tastes.
Some might consider Place d'Italie in the 13th a bit far out of the centre -- about 3.5 km -- but with the Metro and bus routes so close you can get almost anywhere in the city proper within a max of 40 minutes and often much less if you take Metro line 6 (direction "Nation") and transfer at Bercy onto the speedy Line 14 (direction Saint-Denis Pleyel). This is a boutique hotel -- only 50 rooms. For North American travelers the rooms will seem rather small, even cramped. The largest is 20 sq metres, around 215 square feet. Indeed, cozy best describes the overall ambience of the hotel. This, however, is the realty of hotels in a major European capital unless you can afford extortionate prices.

The location is excellent. Metro, train and buses all within minutes walk. There are several bistros and a large shopping complex nearby, and the area feels safe. We did not eat at the hotel, but the staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were quiet and well appointed.
The shower was within rhe lovely claw footed bath, but it was at the bath level. Great for a bubble bath, but not for the less mobile.

Great location, close to the city center while there are several metro stations nearby. Amazing staff, that is always ready to help. We have been second time to this hotel and have not regretted it.

Smallish rooms (there again it's Paris) and a bit quirky but very friendly service and excellent shower units.
Location is not for everyone but direct Metro connection to Gare du Nord.

We stayed at the COQ Hotel for 3 days during our summer vacation and were very pleased with the warm and cheerful welcome from the reception staff. The rooms were clean and airy, and we had a good night's sleep. The breakfast was delicious and had a wide selection. The hotel is located on a quiet street, very peaceful at night, and very close to Place d'Italie with convenient transportation. We were especially grateful for the complimentary bottle of wine upon check-in. Thank you very much! I will definitely return to the COQ Hotel next time.
