The rooms had a Cosy, relaxing feeling. The manager was super attentive (even putting microwave in our room when I asked. Loved the view from balcony over nature. Our room had a mezzanine, and the wooden walls gave a chalet-type vibe . And close by you have several castles you can hoke to (from hotel) in less than 1 hr hike.

Spacious room with comfortable beds. Restaurant was closed but the owner gave us bread and tomatoes and cakes.Really kind of them.

Absolutely gorgeous location on the border with Germany. Beautiful surroundings, great view from the bacony, you can hear owls at night. There is a bath. Very homely atmosphere.
The reception is S L O W. Both on arrival and on check- out I ended up having to wait a long time for them. Not because there was a line of people either. The curtains are not very adequate, though the dark surroundings make this a fairly minor problem until sunrise. Which is very early in summer, so take a sleep mask. There were no sockets near the bed, which is pretty annoying for charging your phone. The wifi is real bad.

A beautiful location. But the whole place needed a good clean. We appreciated the history and plenty of books etc but the hand rail and general cleanliness stopped us from wanting to eat dinner there! Strong smell of old dog! The dog in question wandered out of the kitchen which isn’t a good sign. We had an uncomfortable welcome as we waited for someone to acknowledge our existence. Breakfast was too expensive for what it was. But these are meant to be helpful comments as it could be marvelous!

Staff were very friendly and welcoming and eager to meet our needs. We were early for dinner but could already sit in the dining room and were brought an appetizer platter and served drinks. Dinner was enough to fill us all up after hiking all day... we came 22 km on foot... and the rooms were compfy, warm, roomy, with modern facilities but still lots of traditional charm. Extremely good value for money. The weekend was a 50th birthday celebration for 4 people and with 2 rooms and ALL we could eat and drink for the two days, the total bill was under €350.
We didn´t really like the music in the dining room... it was a little bit too "churchy."
