Good location, great staff, very helpful, good and varied breakfast, we appreciated a lot the machine for making orange juice. Good complimentary coffee and tea which is a beautiful gesture from the hotel. Overall a very nice stay, I would recommend the place. Our room had direct access to the big terrace which was great since we could enjoy our coffee there in the morning or a drink. I absolutely loved the terrace.
The carpet in the room is a bit outdated but not a huge problem and rooms are small but this is smth normal in Nice given the general building rules. No fridge in our room but the lad at the reception was kind enough to help us to put the beer in the fridge in the kitchen.

My stay at Hotel Locarno was very pleasant. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The staff were friendly and always ready to help. The hotel's location is excellent, just a short walk fron the beach and closr to main attractions. The breakfast was varied and tasty.
Overall. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

The location of hotel Locarno is one of the best in Nice. The hotel is ok and beds are comfortable.
We had a triple room on the fourth floor. Very nice. In the night though, once we went to bed and all was silent, there was a continuous vibrating noise. Pretty strong to not hear it. We called the receptionist and brought him to the room and he acknowledged the problem but he couldn’t do anything because he said that it was the ventilation system on the roof. No room was available in the lower floors. We couldn’t sleep the night. The next morning we went again to the reception to change the room. The morning staff was pretty careless about the fact that their customers had a sleepless night. They wanted to make us check out and wait until check in time to change the room and as soon as we complained, we were tagged as rude, although one of the receptionist was indeed rude to us, saying that she didn’t want to deal with us and she just turned on the other side, asking to her colleague to deal with us. At least the colleague was professional. Let’s not speak about the manager that wasn’t useful. He just said that nobody never complained about the noise (which I don’t really believe) but it’s no excuse for us not to complain. Long story short, since we didn’t back down (without being rude) somehow, magically a room appeared available at the moment. So we couldn’t sleep the night although there was a very beautiful and silent room, totally available.

We liked the location, near the sea. Helpful staff. Hotel offers some Good facilities like beach towels, coffee machine, kettle, fridge, balcony.
If you are sensitive to noise, don’t book this hotel, because the rooms are not soundproofed, and the windows are old and not sealed at all. The room doors are causing awfull noise when closing, that was waking me up many times at nights.
Although the hotel is a well-known one in Nice but needs renovation asap because everything is too old and the decoration is outdated.

Disappointing
The hotel staff was truly kind and welcoming – thank you for that! Unfortunately, the positive impression was completely overshadowed by the hotel's confusing and potentially misleading payment policy. I was required to pay for my stay twice – once in advance and again upon arrival. As a result, I ended up paying double the amount advertised in the original listing.
This kind of practice is highly questionable and comes across as a form of customer deception. Travelers need to know the actual costs up front, and such a policy should not be acceptable. It violates well-established standards of good practice in the hospitality industry, which state that:
> "Hotel pricing and billing policies must be clearly communicated, transparent, and understandable to the customer before the service is rendered. Double billing or unclear charges are considered wholly unacceptable according to hospitality standards and are also in violation of EU consumer protection directives (such as Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights)."
Unfortunately, this experience left me disappointed, and I cannot currently recommend this hotel to other travelers. I hope the hotel reconsiders its policies in the future and aligns them with internationally recognized hospitality standards.
