Terrible smell in the bathroom that didn’t go away despite regularly opening the window. Breakfast room is tiny, food options quite limited.

The location is perfect. Right next to vieille Nice, Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate and la promenade du pavillon. There is an elevator for handicapped visitors. There is breakfast available and free syrups and fizzy water to make your own sodas. The rooms all have small balconies.
The rooms were too warm. The rooms were a bit small but nothing too odd for the price range.

Beautiful historic building with original "salon" below, renovated hotel above. Great central location. Buffet breakfast was adequate.
No toilet on ground level. We arrived early, could store luggage but no bathroom facilities before access to room. Breakfast facilities a bit cramped and busy, tables limited.

The location was excellent, with easy access to the tram, and the breakfast was very good. However, I was surprised by all the high ratings. We had to be moved to a different room due to issues with our original one. I would not recommend the basic double room, as it was small and poorly decorated. Perhaps some rooms have been updated more recently, but both of the rooms we stayed in needed basic aesthetic repairs such as moldings, carpets, and other details that affect the overall quality and appearance.
This is an older hotel, but that is not an excuse for the shoddy repairs that have been done. This hotel was not up to the expectations that had been set by the Booking.com ratings system. We made the best of things but were ultimately disappointed.

Hotel Vendome charged my card despite the listing on Booking.com stating "no prepayment – pay at the property." The charge has not been refunded even after 20 days. Very disappointing experience — be cautious when booking here!
