Ammi - Serious safety concerns; disappointing apartment
I would give Ammi Aparthotel 1 star, but I am leaving 2 stars because the front desk staff were considerate and understanding when we raised our concerns.
On our first morning, at 6:50 AM, a stranger entered the corridor, spoke loudly on his phone, and repeatedly knocked on our door. He spoke to me in French and asked me in English to call the police. The situation was alarming, and I was genuinely concerned for the safety of my family.
I called reception at 7:20 AM and also sent a WhatsApp message, but received no response. After 8 AM, reception explained that the individual had apparently entered the building accidentally while looking for another apartment and had subsequently been taken away by ambulance.
This incident seriously undermined our confidence in the building’s security. If strangers can enter the premises, it raises questions about the value of paying for accommodation where we do not feel safe. We requested a refund, and to their credit, the front desk staff understood our concerns and refunded the remaining four nights. We checked out immediately and moved to another hotel.
Beyond the safety incident, the apartment itself did not live up to the photos. Our room felt dated and lacked the decor and inviting atmosphere shown in the listing. It appears that only some of the rooms are renovated and if you are lucky you get one.
While the location is convenient and the reception staff were courteous, these positives could not compensate for our experience. If you are traveling with family, I recommend choosing a hotel with a 24-hour front desk and stronger on-site security.

This hotel is in an excellent location to walk around all of Old Nice and just a few blocks to the sea. The space was quite large and the kitchenette was well equipped. It was also close to the tram line (Jean Medecin) that went directly to the airport. Very nice place for the cost.

Very spacious room (with kitchenette and dining table); very helpful and hospitable staff. Shopping and restaurants completely surrounding you from the moment you step out the front door of the hotel.
The building entry/path to the registration desk looks weathered/aged. MNo safe in room and room on a half floor from elevator (you always must walk up or down 10 or so stairs even when taking the elevator).

Loved that we were upgraded to a full apartment with a lot of space, two balcony’s, and a full kitchen. We loved that we got the best of everything at Aparthotel! Location is phenomenal and the views from the apartment were spectacular. The apartment was fully equipped with dishes, toilet amenities, and luggage holders.
We did notice the light fixtures in the entrance hallway could be fixed/sealed properly. But it was not a deterrent.

The A/C didn’t work… the room was 27° at night crazy… at least they gave us a fan which barely helped. To be clear the AC , which was an air handler, which usually makes me think that the room’s gonna be cool ,blew out a very tiny amount of somewhat cold air. It was not functioning properly.

This place is the worst . Self check in, the code never worked , we are from America and had to stayed outside with our suit cases , icalling their fake emergency number from 10.30 pm to 6 am . They responded the next day at 11 am . They messed up our entire vacation .
Can’t even park around . Bunch of dangerous people working around.

After having to leave our previous accommodation in Menton because the host failed to disclose that the air conditioning wasn’t working, arriving at AMMI felt like a breath of fresh air. The cool apartment, friendly staff and comfortable accommodation immediately put us at ease. We really appreciated the warm welcome and the excellent location, which made exploring Nice so easy.
Nothing significant. It’s an aparthotel rather than a luxury hotel, but it delivers exactly what it promises. The owners have done a great job creating a modern, colourful and welcoming space.

Impeccable location -- this is just a really, really well located hotel. Also had excellent soundproofing on the windows and excellent air conditioning. We were very comfortable and especially enjoyed the relatively spacious and well-lit kitchen/dining area.
The bathroom was a bit on the small side, but this was not a real problem. The elevator did not function for over 24 hours during our stay, including when we needed to check out, requiring us to climb up and down 5 flights of stairs. This was *in no way* the hotel's fault, but it did dampen our enthusiasm for the property!

The listings photos are much nicer than the place feels. Everything feels quite cheap, from the furniture to the sheets and towels. Also no room cleaning during your stay.
