I really enjoyed the hotel. The rooms were spacious and super comfortable. There's a good breakfast available (with some decent cheese and bread...this being France!) A great central location. And a fabulous city.
There are very limited public areas, although there's a sunny terrace outside. The stairs are a little shabby chic. But all in all a nice hotel with nice features linking to the silk trade.

Great location in the centre of the city close to all the main areas for sightseeing and eating. We also liked the breakfast with a nice selection of food. Small things like a sparkling water fountain in reception is a good benefit. We had a twin room which was a good size. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is quite cramped i.e. The restaurant area is small and the tables are very much on top of each other. Also there is only one slow lift that only holds 3 people at a squeeze. The lady running the breakfast area could also be a bit more friendly, she was quite curt in her approach to customers. If you have children I would be very careful about opening the balcony doors as the balcony rail is very low. Not suitable for people with mobility issues I would suggest.

We had a superior room which was spacious, clean and modern. Lovely bath room with a shower/Bath and a window which is a bonus for a bathroom!! We looked out to the front of the hotel with large double doors and a small balcony which was a lovely surprise! Even with the Main Street location the doors blocked out all the street noise and the blackout blocked the light really well! Large modern style 4 poster bed was v cool and comfortable. Hotel was Walking distance to the main areas of Lyon, close to lots of shops and great bars restaurants were a short stroll. Felt very safe, main door locked at night but you could get in easily with the night staff Breakfast was limited but good. Lots bread, fruit, cheese, yoghurt, pastries etc. Bacon and eggs as a hot option Eco friendly details were noted and appreciated
The hallways were a little rundown/ dated compared to the bedrooms. But wouldn’t stop Me returning

There was a problem with the heating system. The heating was somehow on while it was very warm outside on a spring day. The room was heated to a very high temperature and the first night we almost could not sleep. The second day we reported the issue to the front desk and the staff said they would turn down/off the heating, but it did not seem to take effect in the next hours. We had to come down to report it again as it got unbearably hot, and this time the staff helped change the room for us. We were re-assigned a much smaller room, but at least the temperature was normal there. Nonetheless, we appreciate that the staff's prompt response to the issue and their gesture to potentially compensate for this inconvenience.
