This hotel has an absolutely wonderful concierge who was incredibly helpful and warm to us. Also, the location is very good.
we had an issue during our stay in early August. After we checked in, we sent out six pieces of clothing for laundry service. Unfortunately, all six items were damaged in some way. Five of our Tommy Bahama T-shirts shrank—one of them so badly that it’s now unwearable. Another silk-linen blend shirt ended up with a large yellow stain, and that was a piece both my husband and I really loved and can’t replace.
We did bring this to the front desk’s attention, and they promised to follow up and resolve it once their manager returned after the 18th. We were patient and waited, even after returning to the US from France. We sent several emails over the past month, but we haven’t received any response at all. While they did waive the laundry fee, it really doesn’t make up for the loss of those clothes. So overall, we’re left feeling quite disappointed by the lack of follow-through and can’t give a higher rating.

I don’t know if I should be annoyed at Booking.com or the property for the misleading representation of the room.
The hotel is located in Bellecour Square. The room I booked was listed as “Square view” - so I logically, but naively, assumed that since it came at a higher cost the room would have overlooked the square — which some rooms do (see photo below of the front of the hotel). Unfortunately, no. The room, like many others, faced the side street: Rue de la Charite’.

Fabulous location for us two couples, we walked everywhere. The staff was very friendly, even though we don't speak French, and help us with directions, a map, and recommendations. The lobby umbrellas were appreciated on one rainy day. The decor was beautiful and made us feel like we were in a historic area.

Perfect location for exploring the city. Easy walk to the old town and its historic sites. Near fabulous restaurants. Loved the breakfast. Room was large and comfortable, especially for a room in France!

The location is very convenient with lots of places for coffee, shopping and restaurants.
The place is old and for our standards definitely not a 5 star hotel. We had booked a superior double room courtyard side. The courtyard side is the tin roof amongst all the back buildings that the windows look to. The word yard is not there. Our original room was 516. Small, smelling, no fresh air moving, ac not working, a tiny WC with a cheesy sliding glass door one had to squeeze through, and a broken balcony door that kept on opening. We were moved to 122 after complaining. I always wonder why would hotels use their worse rooms, especially when they are not running a high occupancy, which was the case here. Very frustrating as we had done an 18 hour trip to get there and then after unpacking as we were staying for 4 days, had to pack up our things to move. The new room was definitely bigger, with newer furniture, a much larger bathroom and a semi working ac. Tolerable for the amount of money we were paying. But it looked exactly on the tin roof and was surrounded by all the old buildings around so it has absolutely no day light. We did not try the breakfast or the bar. We did nit feel after the room situation that we were treated nice enough to leave any more money there. The housekeeping service was excellent. For as old as this building and rooms are it was clean. We were visiting friends in Lyon, who told us other friends of theirs who had stayed their before, had pretty much the same comments. Would I stay there again? Definitely not. Would I recommend? Definitely no.

Its place very nice
Staff gave us accessible room which bathroom was designed for handicapped people. There isn’t shower curtain or glass for excessive water. When we have a shower all bathroom was wet. Toilet also same, designed as accessible. We didn’t ask this type of room but somehow staff gave us this room.
