the spa is really nice. the grounds are beautiful. the building is really special. It is nice to look out at the city and feel above Lyon.
It was hard to get from the city/village to the hotel. Uber is expensive and the talk is robust.

An absolutely gorgeous location and building, but the rooms are a bit stark - like a college dorm room
Almost impossible to get a straight answer out of the staff about simple things like cleaning. I was told repeatedly that my room had been cleaned when it clearly had NOT been, and it took the front desk person walking to my room to look for herself to validate that I was not telling tales - infuriating!

I had been skeptical about this property to be honest based on Google Reviews but I was wrong. We had a wonderful stay in this hotel. It is located in the historical Fouviere district. It is totally walkable to get to the Basilica and the Roman ruins. Plus they are surrounded by these little cute parks. Room was large, definitely larger as opposed to what you get in Paris. And the staff service is commendable. They ACTUALLY listen to you and act. We asked for elec kettle and ironer and staff member knocked our door a few minutes later, with big smiles on their faces. It was nippy, cold October so it was nice to enjoy amenities such as stream sauna and outdoor swimming pool equipped with heating system.
It is not what I didn't like per se, but you can take this as area of improvement. On our first day, we got tired and wanted to have dinner in the hotel. It was Saturday night and I understand it was the last-minute request but we were told that the restaurant is fully booked, so we were not able to dine. In fairness, the staff was kind enough to recommend some restaurants nearby, but I personally believe that room guests should be able to be fed in the hotel they stay no matter what. And it's just 3 people so I trust he could have been more creative and found a leeway to accommodate his guests. So it would be better if the hotel has some options of more snack options as Fouviere area is literally empty and quiet after the nightfall.

On top of hill close to the basilica but far from old town. Upon arrival in hotel no information regarding funicular and how to go down and up from hotel to old town. More tips would have been welcome.

It was an interesting mix of the very old renovated with modern furniture and decor. Nice gardens and a pool, that I did not use
There weren’t many places to go within walking distance, except for the basilica and the Roman ample theater. No restaurants nearby

Stunning conversion of a convent into a hotel. Lovely grounds, and spa area. The lobby was beautiful as were all the common areas. Rooms were compact but comfortable and the shower was excellent! A long walk down hill to old Lyon but the funicular ride up avoided most of the uphill trek !
Menu was a bit limited. My husband did not like that breakfast was buffet only.

The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are nice and roomy enough. The staff were really nice and helpful.
It’s a bit of a walk to city center, so you have to Uber a lot. If you don’t like to walk far it can get expensive.

This beautifully restored former convent blends historic charm with modern design—stylish, serene, and thoughtfully done. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and quiet, with a minimalist aesthetic that still felt warm and comfortable. The staff were genuinely welcoming and eager to please. We especially enjoyed the garden, pool, and spa facilities, which offered a peaceful retreat after exploring the city. Access to Vieux Lyon was easy via the nearby funicular, making it a convenient base to explore the city.
During our July visit in a heatwave, the in-room air conditioning wasn’t quite as powerful as Americans might hope for, but it was adequate—especially after the staff quickly provided a portable fan that made a big difference.

They could have built a better swimming pool because space surround it is so big.
