Lovely room, great a/c, nice bathroom, swimming pool was good, decor lovely.
Not the hotel's fault, but a power cut meant the lifts were out of action and were not back working when we left so we had to take luggage down the stairs. But it was only a minor inconvenience. Breakfast seemed very expensive s we didn't have it.

This was our fourth stay at Fourvière, and that's probably the best recommendation I can give. Lyon has become our regular stopover on the way to the south of France, and this has always been the hotel we choose. If you read my previous reviews, you'll see they've all been exceptional. This visit was a little different. We experienced a couple of issues that took the shine off what would otherwise have been another excellent stay. We mentioned them during our visit and the staff responded quickly and professionally. Afterwards, I wrote to the General Manager, not to complain, but because I thought he'd want to know. His response was exactly what I would expect from a hotel of this standard. He thanked me for the constructive feedback, apologised sincerely, and it was clear the comments would be taken seriously. You can't really ask for more than that. I always think the true measure of a hotel isn't whether everything goes perfectly every time. It's what happens when it doesn't. Fourvière passed that test. We'll certainly be back for a fifth visit on our next drive to the south of France. If every stay had been like this one we'd probably have looked elsewhere by now. But the previous three visits have been exceptional, and when something did go wrong this time the response was exactly what you'd hope for. That says rather more about a hotel than a stay where nothing goes wrong at all.

A stunning place — a former convent in a privileged setting, with beautiful architecture and views. Well worth it for the location alone.
We missed having a fitness room, and the air conditioning doesn't cool the room as much as we'd have liked — understandable in such an old building, and the renovation clearly did as much as was possible within those constraints.

Beautifully converted building and lovely setting. Very clean and modern inside. Well appointed. Lovely swimming pool. Wonderful staff.
The weather was very hot and most communal areas were not air conditioned. Spare towels for the pool and spa were not readily available downstairs and our wet bathrobes in our room weren’t replaced. Self service coffee machine at breakfast wasn’t in keeping with the otherwise luxurious standard
