As I was told to avoid Ibis hotel chain in France, stay at ibis Styles Carcassonne La Cité exceeded my expectations. Very good location (about a dozen of minutes to reach the Castle on foot). Nice staff. Very convenient parking space for a car. Good enough breakfast. Big advantage was the swimming pool to refresh after long walking in the La Cité during hot summer days.
The room was a bit tinny for four. During peak breakfast time some food was gone quick and for the staff it took some time to resupply. The hotel restaurant could be better.

they wanted 2 people to use one towel..the second person to use the wet, used towel after their shower. This would somehow save the planet ( and nothing to do with their profit margin, of course).

Good parking, 10 min walk from the castle, breakfast included in the price
The matress was a disaster, we had backpain, the breakfast could be more internationally, the heater could be fit to work through the night

Breakfast was chaotic, food not replenished quickly enough but was at peak time.

Great car park. Lovely welcome. Staff made a fuss of our dog.
Location was a ten minute walk from the Citadel. Evening meal and breakfast were both very good.

Everything was great. Big and modern room, very clean and tidy. Comfortable bed. Kind and friendly receptionists.
Would be great if Ibis hotels had tea and coffee machine in their rooms :)

Very close to La Cité de Carcassonne, clean, comfortable bed, lots of light (we had the corner room normally reserved for wheelchair access. Not sure why we were given this room, tbh), generous breakfast, great shower. Staff were polite and helpful and not overly solicitous. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was very good.
I wish the room had a mini fridge and provided drinking glasses/cups,
