The room I stayed in was very nice, and it was like going back to 1921, which I loved. I thought the stay was a little expensive for what we got, as it was just a Chambre D'hote ( Bed and Breakfast ), but the rooms were lovely, and the host was fantastic, very friendly and really lovely. The breakfast was very nice.
Our big problem was the parking, as the gate was very badly designed and it severely damaged my car. We had to drive through an electric gate, and the runner was embedded in concrete, and it was like driving over a speed bump. It damaged the underside of my Mercedes so much that we had to cancel our trip to Toulon for two nights as the gears were damaged. We were driving over the gate at 3mph but the runner was so badly designed the car got stuck. I would strongly suggest you do not park in the grounds. It really spoilt a lovely stay.

The location of Marianne’s family-run manor was great. Well-appointed and very clean rooms with washer/dryer, A/C, dishwasher, nespresso, stove and microwave, beautiful bathrooms - both bath and pool towels were supplied. Marianne spent time with us orienting us to the location with a map so we could find our way to the Cite. This was so important! Free secure garden parking. We never moved our cars once we arrived. Two minute walk to great bistrots, cafes and restaurants and an outdoor market and a lovely bridge over the Aude. Marianne helped us make dinner reservations close to the house and in the Cité and to figure out how to make reservations for a show (Medieval Knights on Horseback and Falcons Show!) She and her family are lovely and patient and attentive. Great distance from La Cité. Lovely outdoor pool where we rested between touring and dinner. This is rare to find. Easy access to suprisingly delicious fresh baguettes, cold cuts, cheeses, drinks and snacks just across the street at a simple local shop. Perfect for a poolside picnic for 7! Many thanks to Marianne, Stephane and family!
This was not a problem for us, but just be aware that there are stairs and no elevators (in the event that your you have any physical limitations). We knew this in advance and we embraced the extra exercise. We simplified what we brought up to our rooms vs left in our secure car. Simple is always better!

I can't rave enough about this manor. Lovingly restored by a beautiful family, it is everything you imagine a French historic bnb to be.
The breakfast, hand prepared by the owners, is beautiful and delicious.
The rooms are impeccable. There is nothing they missed here-every detail is perfect.
The pool was so relaxing -a real oasis with waterfall, birds chirping and relaxing areas all around.

The charm, warmth, decoration and location were great. Breakfast was tasteful and the hosts and their staff (little Chloe) were amazing.
It wasn’t a big deal but I think it would be good to have shampoo and conditioner y the shower in addition to the shower gel

Amazing old home tastefully decorated with antique furniture.
Comfortable rooms with additional common space including a kitchen, a nice garden with a pool and a small pond, and other sitting areas that provide extra space for reading, playing games, or simply relaxing.
The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, allowing early check in if you get there at the right time. They even offered to pick me up at the train station.
The location couldn’t be better with easy access to the old city and several restaurants, and within an easy walk to train station.
The breakfast was great and served in a beautiful dining room.
Not much. Maybe the garden furniture could be upgraded and cleaned up but I believe I was there at the beginning of the season when it was still being readied.

Everything went exceedingly well, except for the weather, which, of course, Demeure Saint Louis can't control.
In spite of being in an old building, it had been modernized to an appropriate extent. As such, my stay was quite pleasant with the all facilities working as expected. The room size was good, the bathroom was fine, and breakfasts were very nice.

The home was located close to the fortress and a small road with several quaint places to eat. We had a delicious breakfast each morning and the rooms were large and very comfortable. The backyard with the heated pool was a great place to relax with a glass of wine. The owners were very friendly with lots of good advice.

Loved the location. Walk to town and the walled city. My room was tastefully decorated with all the comforts. Several bottles of wine. Coffee bar. Outside of room was a large sitting area with lovely music playing. Breakfast was at little tables with tablecloth and pretty China. The outside has lots of areas to relax with a heated pool. The nicest place to relax.
I have no complaints. Everything was wonderful.
