The people working at the reception desk are wonderful and there is excellent bicycle storage.
*Whatever you do, avoid taking a room facing the street.* We stay in a lot of Ibis Budget hotels. This one is weird. There is a gambling bar next door, a truck parking location for deliveries, and both a tram and train station outside. It's loud and busy. In addition... People from the bar and transport stations come to the hotel and congregate loudly along the front of the hotel to access the hotel's free open wifi. People hang around day and night, playing music and talking so loudly sometimes it's like a party. The hotel has to keep its front doors locked all the time, so you have to walk through the people and push an intercom button to ask them to let you in. We had a room on floor 2, facing the street front. It was hard to sleep because of all the strange noises, which is surprising because we are both very heavy sleepers. We don't usually mind a bit of noise, which is why we were OK about booking a hotel near the tram.

The hotel was near the train and the center of the city, thus it was very convenient during our short stay in Caen. As we did not spend much time at the hotel and instead explored the city, the cheap price was perfect and it was nice to have a small bite to eat in the morning included with our stay.
Though the location was convenient, as others have indicated, the tabac patrons spill onto the property and make noise all night long. The towels were more like rags, and we only got one per person. The bed was as thin as could be, as were the pillows. There was a sewage smell that came from the bathroom, like sulfur, and because the room was so small it was constantly present, even with the door to the toilet closed.

Nothing to like about this overnight stay.
Well where to begin, the parking was horrendous. If you did manage to get a parking space it was very expensive. And no free parking at all nearby, staff not very good on reception to the point of not being able to communicate the wifi password. Also for a pet friendly accommodation nowhere at all to walk dog's, definitely never going back there.
