We have stayed here before. We liked the free car park. The location is on the outskirts of Caen and easy to drive to, although the sat-nav was required to navigate right to the hotel car park. The breakfast was absolutely superb. The chef knows how to make perfect scrambled eggs, so we will definitely be staying there next time!
The room still had an odour of carpet glue which was overpowering last year when we stayed there (and we were moved to a different part of the hotel).
This time, after we opened the window, it was not too bad.
The restaurant was closed (we had not checked beforehand). However, we discovered 'Boucherie' near-by and we had a superb meal there.

Good breakfast & food in restaurant when we could get it.
No lift and staff did not offer to take our cases up to room. Pool area grubby and leaves in pool - not attended to so I had to remove the leaves myself before swimming. We were told the restaurant was fully booked for our first night. Infact there was hardly anyone in there and later found out this was due to staffing issues. Nowhere nearby as an alternative

The front desk staff was less than friendly. They did not offer the information that dinner needed a reservation. (Morning desk.) The evening desk individual said we needed dinner reservations, when we appeared at 7:00pm and we would have to wait until 7:30- 8:00, even though there were tables available. 7:30 came and went, 8:00 came and went and not a word. I finally got up at 8:15pm and asked the clerk if he could seat us now and he told me to go ask his colleague in the dining room. I’ve never experienced such rude treatment while traveling in Europe. A decent facility can not overcome rude employees. (And we lacked transportation to go elsewhere- this was an emergency booking due to issues with our crossing on Brittany ferries, which is why some hospitality would have been appreciated!)

Free parking facilities with charging stations for e-vehicles (add on).
Rooms are very small. Bedding not so great, pillows very hard and can lead to neck and ears pain. Not soundproof, you hear what your neighbours are talking about, even at normal voice level. For light sleepers, you hear cars if the room is on “road” side.
