That it was convenient being right at the train station.
Being at the train station is very convenient but it also has its drawbacks. The people that don’t just pass through the station but hang around it all day and night are ones to avoid.

I like the proximity to the train station, literally across the street as you exit. The room was clean and comfortable, with noticeable upgrades in the bathroom. While there was no A/C, the room had a floor fan which provided good air flow. I had forgotten there was no elevator, so do note this.
The breakfast was not worth the €10.

The room is well done and seemed fairly new. Well lit in hallways and stairwells. Bathroom was well equipped and comfortable.
The checkin process on Sunday was challenging. There was miscommunication on check-in times after I received an email and responded to what time I would like to check in. Noisy neighborhood. It may only be in room 207, but there was a smell that permeated the room about midnight that was overwhelming. I believe it was coming from a nearby restaurant. There was a window broken in the stairwell that could have been the culprit for allowing the majority of the smell.

NO ELEVATOR. THIS WAS NOTED AS UPPER FLOORS REACHED BY STAIRWAY ONLY. WE ASKED FOR A GROUND FLOOR ROOM BUT THERE WERE NONE ON GROUND FLOOR. HOWEVER, WE HAD VERY GOOD ASSISTANCE WITH LUGGAGE

Close by train and bus stations, plus multiple city buses and trams. Good size rooms and bathrooms, very clean. Multiple restaurants nearby. Staff is often gone, call them on the emergency cell phone number in front or message them in Booking, they’ll answer.
No lift, 3 stories only. Stuffy hallways at first but then they kept the windows open. Noisy café downstairs but good double sound proof windows. A messy neighborhood with multiple groceries stores.

The location is superb, especially if you aim to have day trips to the nearby beaches, where you can easily walk to the train, bus, tramway stations right in front of the hotel. The buffet a volonte restaurant next to the hotel is good.
A lot of people gathering right below the hotel (there is a cafe/pub) and make noise/ talk loudly until midnight. Closing the window will help to reduce the noise but then it would become too hot as the room faces west. The room is not equiped with aircon. Moreover, no kettle provided.

The hotel is in an excellent location, close to the train station, bus station, tram stops, and a shopping centre (Les Rives de l'Orne).
I had a view of the city from my room which I really appreciated.
The bed and facilities are comfortable.
Be aware that there are no stairs in this hotel, so be prepared to carry your luggage up at least one flight of stairs.
Staff were helpful but not always present. The entrance to the hotel is also near a Tabac and thus often very busy and can be intimidating for solo travelers.
The Internet was slow at times.

The best option for a hotel next to the station. The area around the station is not very nice, but that is not the hotel's fault. Very kind staff and clean, quiet and comfortable room.

Convenient place to stay for one night near train station
A busy area outside hotel. Lots of men gathering there for some reason. Slightly uncomfortable if you are a female traveller.

The location is excellent. They did not have a queen size bed, but only single beds placed together. We arrived early and had to wait over an hour for someone to open the door.
However they did allow us to check in earlier.
