Pleasant
Exceptional property but needs maintenance Most disappointing was we arrived at 9am after long international flight and delighted to hear our room ready but told could only enter at 3pm unless we paid 20Euro per hour until 3 Astonishing! Accross road a building demolition site ! No complimentary water no working mini bar or kettle in room charged 3.5 Euro for tea we made ourselves in dining room????

Wonderful
Beautiful property. C17 villa exuding elegance. So peaceful. Felt like it was ours for the night. Comfy bed, big, lovely room. Homely too

Disappointing
Beautiful hotel, great location and comfortable beds.
I was told we could check in at 1 PM for 20 Euros, (see screenshots). When we arrived at 1 PM the staff told me it was not possible and that was only available if there was a room ready. Had I known, I would not have shown up at 1 PM. There was no communication.
We had two rooms and my step Dad said the hot water ran out while he was in the shower. The water in our bathroom never got very hot.
The final straw was after we checked out (we had an early 615 flight out of Bordeaux airport) the hotel called and messaged me accusing us of accidentally taking two pillows and if we didnt return them, we would be invoiced. I notified booking of the issue and told the hotel in no uncertain terms, we did not take their pillows. I explained there was only one pillow on the bed when we checked in.
We have been using booking.com for over 10 years and this is the first time anything like this has happened. I would avoid this hotel until they have someone who knows how to properly run and and a handy man to fix the maintenance issues.

Poor
There were bed bugs in the room we stayed at!! The breakfast was 15 euros and was so bad: rotten fruit, cheap yogurt, lukewarm coffee, just all around bad. No body at reception past 9pm. We had a whole school with no toilet paper. The queen bed was two beds pushed together.

The room was nicely decorated
This hotel is in a very unconvenient location not close to anything and has no staff during quiet times like April. The main door is operated by a code lock which is provided on a small piece of paper.
If you forget that piece of paper then you will not get it. We had to stay in another hotel one night for this reason. We called and knocked but there was no one there. Its ghost town.

The hotel provides amazingly soft robes and towels and is in a great quiet location, very close to the center. The bathroom has a luxuries design, but poorly maintained.
The check-in is easy and the stuff in the hotel tried to be helpful.
I returned home with bedbugs marks on my skin. On top of that I could not sleep because the toilet was broken and the water was running all night long. The wall above the toilet is already covered in black mold, because it's always wet.
I left a review on maps describing my experience and the hotel representative was sending me threats of legal prosecution because they didn't like it.

Very beautiful and historical building and nice welcoming personnel
Room was very damp and cold. Breakfast is rather poor with limited choice and quantity. Though location is quite central but on a very remote street which felt unsafe especially with the current situation with immigrants in France .

Wonderful
The staff were wonderful and SO friendly. I would stay again just to have such kind service. The rooms were beautiful and provided us with everything we needed - we felt spoiled! Heated towel racks, slippers, robes, the whole package!
The rooms did have some gnats in them, which was only a small con, but it doesn't always make you feel the most clean. Also, there was no elevator and it was the struggle to get down all of the flights of the stairs without waking others. Also, there wasn't a shower curtain, which was just a little strange because the bathroom got very wet and it was freezing to shower!

Was very old French which we liked . However difficult to contact for late check in .
Stairs and no lift . No help either to get up two flights of circular stairs . If anyone has large bags . Almost impossible ! We didnt but still difficult . Info about late check in confusing - breakfast certainly not worth 15 euros .
