Exceptional
Loved having such a lovely space for our 4 days in Bordeaux. Kitchen had dishes, glassware, pots/pans, etc. We actually cooked and ate a few meals there. Enjoyed the outside patio. Comfortable beds. Location was perfect!! Would stay here again!
We had trouble figuring out had to adjust the shower as well as starting the dishwasher so our recommendation is to include some helpful hints to guests.

This is a fabulous stay for the cost. We had arrived in Bordeaux via train from Paris. Our hotel in Paris had been a bit sub-par and we were a little apprehensive that this would be the same. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived in the suite. The area is divided into two apartments with a common kitchen and living area. When we arrived, we were so excited when we walked in- it was huge, especially considering the shoebox that we'd stayed in during our time Paris. The bedrooms were large and one had a lovely sitting area with a television. The bathroom was also large with ample places to put toiletries and a generous supply of towels and toilet paper. We got to meet our host, Pierre, who was lovely and welcoming. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and glasses and it was a real treat to have a proper fridge to use. The best thing of all is the location; it's a stone's throw from downtown Bordeaux and within walking distance of everything you could possibly imagine. It was a wonderful stay and I highly recommend it!
Pierre was kind enough to provide all the codes to get into the apartment but, being Americans who were still a wee bit jetlagged, we had a bit of trouble realizing that you push the doors after entering the codes rather than pull. Also, the lights in the hallway/elevator area are triggered by a motion sensor which is on the ground floor. This is great when you're going up but coming down the stairs is another story. We had to use our camera torches to see when we went down. The elevator is a single person/single piece of luggage sized one and it's fine going up but my poor friend who waited for the elevator to be free so she could take it was left standing in the dark until she realized she had to do a little arm waving/flailing to get the lights back on. The common area was nice but wasn't the sort of place we felt comfortable splaying out in to relax when the other apartment was occupied for fear of disturbing them so we hung out in the bedroom- not a bad thing- it was our choice. Overall though- there really isn't much negative to say!

The location couldn't have been better, close to everything. Very walkable safe area. Did not have a street view but a wonderful patio, really enjoyed that and the privacy it provided.
I wish I had more time to spend there.

The location is fantastic and all the major attractions of Bordeaux are either a walk, tram or boat ride away. My review would have been much better if we had been warned about the adjacent building works - see below. The room & bathroom were large & comfortable. We were able to leave our bags in the room after check out time & collect them in the afternoon.
We stayed at the same time as another reviewer, Franco, and agree with his comments about the building works. The owner's response about the city council being to blame is all wrong: we too rent out property in a major city and have suffered major building works on both sides that lasted over a year. It is always far better to inform potential visitors of the problem, not hide it, and offer a discounted rate for the duration of their stay. That way the visitors are being compensated for jack-hammers starting at 7.30 in the morning in the next-door building. Or they can choose to rent elsewhere. Also we believed that we had paid for everything in advance so we were somewhat shocked to be asked to pay €3.48 as a tourist tax. It's a small amount but, like the building works, it's all about communication & managing expectations. One last thing to note - there's no oven in the kitchen only a microwave.

Disappointing
The location was excellent and for a stay in Bordeaux, this is ideal. We had a good sized room, good shower and whilst the property has a lot of potential and it really could be lovely, we were very disappointed with our 5 night stay.
1. On arrival a work truck was parked in front of the entrance and we had issues identifying the property and there was scaffolding externally and plastic protecting the floors on entry which was concerning.
2. There were extensive renovations including jack hammering in the morning and noises like furniture being dragged along the floors above us. We should have been advised of the renovation work in advance so that we could make an informed decision about our stay. Our host advised that the jack hammering was on the building next door (and it may have been) but our building had the scaffolding and the builder's notice.
3. On the first day we reported to our host that the TV wasn't working and he finally brought a technician to fix the problem on our last day.
4. The dishwasher apparently didn't work and was full of dirty dishes etc but when the cleaning staff came in daily, they just left the items in the dishwasher. We hand washed what we used and packed them back in the cupboards.
5. There was quite a lot of dust and we had to clean the top of the bedhead ourselves when we arrived.
6. There was inadequate lighting in the room; no ceiling lights, only lamps with dull globes. In fact on entering the room in the dark you had to find a light.
7. We had no problem sharing the lounge/dining, kitchen and outdoor space with other house guests. However, during our stay two separate couples stayed in the other room but both were very surprised to find they were sharing the space with us. Obviously this wasn't made clear to them.
8. By way of apology, our host gave us bottle of red wine on our last day which we couldn't take with us as we were catching a very early flight and we would not have been able to carry it on the flight. Perhaps a 10% refund may have been a better gesture?
8. Then we received a message that we had to pay the 8.80€ city tax which I did pay and left in the room as requested.

The location is excellent as it is in close proximity to local sights and shopping.
There was scaffolding outside the premises, and workmen renovating the property next door. This did not affect our stay.
