Location was great for getting trams into town and airport and local bistros allowed us to chill out locally. Room was great for our short stay and we would definitely use again :-) Staff were very friendly and helpful

Wonderful
The staff were very helpful
Breakfast was outstanding
The hotel is very conveniently located over the road from the St Jean station
My only complaint was early morning traffic noise and noise from street cleaning machines

Exceptional
Overnight stop before catching a train. Perfect location across the road from Gare St Jean. Hotel room was quite small but ideal for our needs. Friendly staff on reception, room facilities were as we would expect from a standard Ibis Hotel. Surrounded by eating and drinking options.
No issues.

Fair
On arrival we were told that the aircon was not working...apparently in all the rooms. As a 58yr old women I need cool air to sleep. We were given a fan which wasn't enough and they did go amd find me another fan. The hotel obviously knew about the issue and should have informed us this giving us time to book somewhere else.
No aircon
No coffee facilities in room and a €2cost to have one in the foyer.

Good
Convenient location close to the station. Rooms were really quiet despite it being a noisy street. Air conditioning worked well. Staff were nice and helpful and the beds were really comfy.
The bathroom shower is definitely a bit on the smaller side and there isn't much space to hang clothes.

Wonderful
Perfect location for catching the train or renting a car to leave Bordeaux, and I appreciated the prompt replies from the receptionist, who is on duty 27/7. The breakfast/coffee arrangement was a little confusing. Apparently coffee is free but breakfast is extra--yet it's all in the same lounge area downstairs so when I took my coffee I couldn't be sure if I was going to get charged for breakfast. I asked the receptionist as well as the hostess in the lounge to confirm.
The rooms are tiny, as I expected that from the photos. The beds are very comfy. The triple pane windows precluded any street noise, along with being on an upper floor. I would say the carpeting needs a deep clean or replacement at this point based on the stains, but everything was tidy.

Very Good
The room is in the Ibis standard: clean, recent , convenient. It was very well located near the train station; It was calm at my request , not overlooking the street. The breakfast buffet was OK.
The size of the room.

Disappointing
Nothing
There were 4 Ibis hotels near the railway station. I had just finished a Camino (walked 280kms in 13 days - many blisters) ….the Ibis I had booked was the third out of four, walking between them at 2.30am - with RATS at the closed coffee bars opposite the station.

Good location near the airport bus, airport tram and other tram lines C&D through the city. Personnel were very polite and helpful while dealing with my pushy mother. Nearby old school brasserie “Bouillon Saint-Jean” is a winner for Bordeaux style meal.
This is a pretty simple, modern style hotel. Shame there were no tea/coffee facilities in the room and that it had to be paid for at reception. Room was a bit dated and also small - but that can happen regularly in France. Soundproofing to the busy square outside is acceptable, but not perfect.
