The location was good and the staff was friendly. Serges was specially helpful.
At first we got a room on the first floor. The bathroom in the room was superficially clean, but had rust/calc stains all over, as well as brown stains in the ceiling, and splashes of cement (or something) similar in the bathtub. The toilet was also stained/dirty at the beginning of the stay and stunk really bad when opened. The hairdryer was also not working (the reception did provide us with an alternative one). The air conditioner worked but if you put it colder than 22 degrees, it would go up to 22 again after a certain amount of time. The blinds outside the windows were extremely dirty, so it was also difficult to keep windows open as the dirt would just come in with the wind. The worst of it all was the mattress, which was hard as a rock. We were willing to overlook everything but the mattress was impossible as we couldn’t sleep. After the first night, we asked to change rooms, but that was not possible since everything was fully booked - apparently they changed all mattresses to this “firm” one, except in a couple rooms. After 3 nights, we were able to change to a room with the old mattress, which was much better but still not optimal. The bathroom in this new room was also in much better shape, but the rest was the same. Even though in the Booking.com description it says they charge for daily cleaning, they do not specify that there is no cleaning at all during the stay, as well as no change of towels. The towels are also very small/thin and the pillows are cushions instead of proper pillows. They also request you take out your own trash after your stay, which is not included in the description. Even though this was a budget stay, there were other options in the city for a similar price that offered better service.

the room was sufficiently spacious and equipped. Bathroom was clean.
Breakfast is quite basic but fair. I was already in this establishment a few years ago and did not regret returning. there is street parking and i was lucky to find a spot. Hotel parking seems a bit too pricy - although street parking for the whole day is even more expensive. (i parked on a Sunday which is for free)
Staff is kind.
My bed was quite ok - but my daughter and her boyfriend sleeping in another room complained about the fact that their mattress was too hard and could not get a rest.

The breakfast was good. Good coffee. The internet was good.
The room was not so clean. The bathroom was dated and paint chipping off. The sofa was old and danky. Although we knew that the room was not to be cleaned, we asked for clean towels but the staff require payment even for clean towels.

Secured parking. Clean overall. Grocery close-by. Good italian restaurant across the street.
Windows difficult to operate and difficult to get cross ventilation. washing machines working part of the night seemed located below our unit (at end of corridor) and were loud. Cooking surface quite weak.

Location was great, there's a coffee shop and pizza place right next door. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and felt very spacious. We appreciate having a big closet with hangers and shelf space. The tram was 5 min walk, the tram comes very frequently. It's near the river, which has a lot of restaurants and is also a great place to walk after dinner.
I would stay here again the next time I visit the area.
The pipes were a bit noisy, especially at night. It would have been nice to have a small shelf or nightstand next to the bed to put our clock and eye glasses.
