Wonderful
Beautiful historic hotel located in a quiet street of the Bordeaux city center. Room was also quiet. Bed was comfortable. Hotel personnel was friendly and efficient. Most city attractions are in walking distance or can be reached by a well functioning tram service.
The bathroom was rather small (I would recommend to the owners to knock down the wall between the toilet and the bathroom). Since guests are not allowed to keep the roomkey, there is a bit of time waste when entering or leaving the hotel but not a big inconvenience.

Staff were friendly and efficient. Bar man was excellent, shared a joke and chatted about rugby.
Room was hot and the air con quite noisy so opened the window but was noisy.
Breakfast was as expected, plenty available but perhaps a bit expensive.

The location was fantastic, especially after our first attempt to get accommodation behind the railway station, which we had to abandon. The staff were very helpful. It was very quiet at night.
The view of the tiny courtyard was not good. The room was very small. The water, tea bags and biscuits were not replenished at all. Someone had a barking dog in a room a few doors down.
